with a little help from my friends

in friends •  7 years ago  (edited)

I'm feeling better today. Weekends are a chance for me to get in touch with friends who I've known for all of my adult life. It's really rewarding to be close to my family on one end and catching up with people who have made the biggest impacts on me as I matured. Not only that, but to be able to kick back and relax and not have to try to make new friends is a fantastic feeling! Let me explain...

Last year when I came here to visit, my closest friends and I went out for our traditional kareoke night of drinks and singing. When I woke up the following day and my buddy, whose place I was crashing at, woke up and explained he has a new routine he had to do, I just stayed on the couch while he put on my favorite cartoon and served me a delicious smoothie. There's nothing like not having to say a word to someone as they symbiotically respond to your needs and theirs in a harmonious way.

I'd like to make a shout out too all the people who effortlessly respond to the needs of the people who surround them, sharing love, patience and attentiveness for their friends and family! I'd like more of this in my life, please!IMG_1812.JPG

Sweet post. But you get the upvote for the cat on the string! It's amazing that it lets you do that. Ours just wiggles out or lays flat on the ground in protest.

20170311-_DSC2057.jpgHey, thanks! These cats have been traveling with me for 6 years. They both started out as kittens, so, as you can see, the one on my shoulders (Aqua) has adapted to this method of transportation, and the fat cat on the string (Wallace) walks like most dogs (although he is not fond of dogs at all!). My advice, if you wish to have traveling boat and car/van/truck cats is to start getting them used to it young. 0703-062321.jpg

Most cats prefer their independence, but mine have had to adjust to my lifestyle, considering we lived on a sail boat for over 2 years. They go with me wherever I go!0303-145600.jpg1103-153350.jpg1103-153400.jpg1103-154435.jpg1501-134451.jpg20170906_142726.jpg

They're cool cats indeed. We tried to get our moggy to travel in the car with us, but no luck. And now, he's 14, so too late. Our friend lives on a narrow boat and her cat is quite used to traveling. So, yeah, teach them young :)

The cat's tail is used to maintain balance.
