This past weekend, we did a thing at our home: we hosted a summer BBQ event. We grilled, drank, watched the World Cup, and laughed our heads off (see Bonus). Here are a few photos from the BBQ:
These are the amazing hosts of the event and a sixtel of Summer Haze from Dock Street. (Note the Bavarian flags -- they were purchased last year for October fest but came late and never got used. We loved the festivity they added and still haven't taken them down.)
We had a great variety of food with four kinds of meat and many vegetarian and vegan options (but nothing beats homemade baba ganoush.)
These two are my lab mates. Pat (left) brought his son and was preparing to feed the little guy. Stef (right) just moved to Philly from Milan two weeks ago, and he said the party did not disappoint! Many things are new to him, including cream cheese, cinnamon rolls, or s'mores! (pictured.)

Because @dhimmel was away giving an important talk on the future of publishing in Switzerland, I made sure I drank enough for both of us.
In conclusion:
The party lasted 11.5 hours, so yes, even though the oven broke right at noon, definitely a success! Everyone had a blast and complimented on what an incredible house we have lol. Shout out to my housemates Jo and El who help put all this together.
