My #friendsday post is for @tattoodjay who recently created a post about the $4 billion Oculus station house in NYC, designed by Santiago Calatrava. When I saw his photos I knew immediately that it was the same architect that had designed the Milwaukee Art Museum. You can see JJ's photo here... .The Oculus.
The design of the Milwaukee museum reminds people of a bird taking flight over Lake Michigan.
The Quadracci Pavilion was designed by the Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava. Completed in 2001, the magnificent entry Hall, has a vaulted a 90-foot-high glass ceiling;
There is also a moveable sunscreen with a 217-foot wingspan that unfolds and folds twice daily that is called the Burke Brise Soleil. The beams descend in the evening, when the museum closes and the bird lands, and reopens each morning.
It is one of the largest museums in the US.

Very nice photos! Always good to see a Spanish artist getting some respect, too! The sun shade is fascinating. It would be awesome to make a time-lapse video of that in action!
I actually had a similar experience in Spain, when touring a winery. We entered a circular building with strange metal beams in the ceiling and it sort of reminded me of the Eiffel Tower. It turns out Gustave Eiffel had designed that building, too! Why he designed a building for a random winery, I do not know.

He is an incredible architect. I would love to see more of his work and was fascinated by the photos that JJ had of the building in New York City.
I would have been really interested to see a building that Eiffel had designed for a winery! I had no idea. I did get to go on the Santa Justa Lift in Lisbon Portugal and that was amazing to see.

He has designed some amazing structures around the world. His bridges are amazing, too. I feel so lucky that we have this one just a bit over an hour's drive away.

It's beautiful and amazing. The Quadracci Pavilion design greatly uploads eyes with pure color. This is a work that is truly unique to me, because I just saw it. ... for the day of friendship I didn't tag friends, but I made a post to understand real friends.

Well she's on third shift but since it's 12 hours it starts at 6pm and she goes in on Friday night. She gets to strip search all the drunk women that end up in jail at night! lol. it's crazy sometimes and they get some people that are just crazy period.
Yeah, she likes to talk about the whole shift and all the people, other officers, the work load, the proceedures, the events and people that come into jail at night, all kinds of stuff so I've been working on steemit less because she talks about all this stuff and wants someone to tell it to so it's my way of supporting her plus I have alot more stuff to do around here since she's working so much.
today I did alot of work outside then came in and she talked all evening so I didn't get much done on steemit. I haven't been offline for that long at one time since I joined! lol.

I'm glad she has you to tell the stories too. That has to be such a stressful job and I'm sure talking about everything that has happened has to be a good way to de-stress and let it go.

well she is on third shift until she can request another shift but she can't request another shift until she has her jail school ceritification completed and that school doesn't start until next month I think, I'm not sure how many weeks it lasts either but they pay them to go to it.
But the job isn't stressful at all, it's a fun job and she loves it..but it does stress her physically because they are always short handed so they work like crazy the whole time and she dosn't even have time to eat anything, there are no lunch breaks or anything like that. I thought that was against the law but I guess the law can break it's own laws! Hopefully they can get more people hired because 12 hours walking every day is tough!
But unlike most work she's done in the past she does seem to need to talk about all that's going on there so it's part of my job now to listen! lol. It IS very interesting also.
