Morning frost in Hartbeespoort, South Africa.

Few People would believe you if you told them that there are places in Africa that dip below the freezing point at night. We recently moved to a new house close to the water's edge in Hartbeespoort and it certainly does get cold here. We often wake up to a winter wonderland with mist crawling over the mountains and frost on the ground.

Here you can see how frost has formed on the edges of fallen Platanus tree leaves.

Another image shows it in a bit more detail. I did not include filters in these images, but can imagine what artistic photos you will be able to take using them.

Lastly, my Peugeot was parked outside. You can see how the dew drops froze solid on its roof. Truly a cold winters morning in the south of Africa.
