There are the spending ( out of control) Joneses and the too"frugal joneses". How many times have you read a post on Facebook and you wished you could go on the same vacations or buy the same cars? Now, How many times have you read a post of people saving money like crazy couponers ( and you wished you could do the same)?
How many times did you feel bad for not keeping up with the "spending Joneses" or the "frugal Joneses"?
I guess we just have to find the balance of our own finances and don't let the judgment of the Joneses to influence our lives!
Should you be judged for shopping at a nice store? Should you be judged for shopping at a thrifty store?
I personally like to get kids clothing at thrifty and buy their shoes at a nice store. I do like budgeting, saving and investing but I also like to spend some money when needed.
You don't need to be frugal in every part of your life, you can have some spending if it fits your budget. You don't need to try to fit yourself in with the "spending Joneses" or the "frugal joneses". You just need to take a look at your own finances and make your own decisions. Avoid social media posts because it can manipulate your feelings and you make decisions based on those feelings. So the best thing to do is to create your own rules for your finances!
