Duku (Lansium domesticum) Duku is native to Southeast Asia. Duku is also found in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand. Duku is divided into several types that we know, namely duku, langsat and kokosan, while the type - type of duku is widely grown in Indonesia, among others duku komering, duku matesih, and duku condet. Duku plants generally grow in areas with high rainfall and evenly throughout the year with rainfall between 1500 - 2,500 mm / year. The altitude of the area suitable for duku planting is tidah more than 650 meters above sea level.
Duku tree growth is very slow. Under optimal conditions, age 10 sd. 15 new years will begin to bear fruit.
In a less favorable condition, in those ages, the new plant will reach a height between 3 sd. 5 m. and yet fruitful. Plants are stunted growth, the new will bear fruit at age above 20 sd. 25 years. But duku plant will be able to reach productive age hundreds of years.
