Hairy lychees

It is also called Rambutan. Rambutan is an indonesian word, it means hairy. There are other types of lychees that are less hairy and they are more common, while the hairy lychee is more on the exotic side. The scientific name for lychee is Litchi chinensis. The hairy lychee, from its name, is a type of lychee but much more hairy. The shape of this fruit is rounded and sometimes oval. The hair like part of the lychee is kind of exotic. Inside the lychee, when opened by pressing the top of the lychee, a round like thing will be seen. Then, that is the inside of a lychee. The egg like structure of lychee but a bit smaller is quite fascinating, beneath the thin layer of the lychee, there is a seed inside. The lychee fruit is really delicious. It is sometimes sweet depending on the status of the Hairy lychee. Sometimes, there can be some juices or beverages with the flavor of lychee, it is sweet and refreshing too. The other lychee is less hairy but it almost has the same inside with the hairy lychee but the only difference is the hair. Hairy lychee or rambutan is a native in Southeast Asia. They are grown in trees and they have small leaves. Rambutan or Hairy Lychee is a very exotic and very fascinating food . Hairy Lychees have different shapes, often rounded often in an oval shape.
