The mangoes and their properties
When summer comes, we always hear that it is good to increase the consumption of red fruits and vegetables such as tomatoes and carrots. But fruits like mango, equally beneficial to the body, we do not take full advantage of them.
Now the season is happening and here at home we have a tree that gives us many daily amounts of this fruit. Now we can harvest many mangoes at home, enjoy their flavor and take advantage of their properties.
The mango is a delicious fruit and here at home we can enjoy eating it naturally or preparing juices and sweets. We all love it.
The mango is excellent for health since it is antioxidant and anticarcinogenic. It has beneficial action on the skin, eyes, hair, mucous membranes, bones and the immune system. Also for its vitamin C content it helps in the absorption of iron, the formation of red blood cells, collagen, teeth and bones.
Likewise, mango has digestive properties because its high content of magnesium and fiber result in a beneficial satiating effect for overweight people and diabetes.
It is also beneficial for people who take diuretics that make them lose potassium and suffer from bulimia, since the mango is very rich in this mineral.

Now at home, and taking advantage of the mango season, I am harvesting some to prepare a typical Venezuelan sweet. It's about the Mango Jelly. This is made with mangoes and sugar, the result is a firm jelly or delicacy with a tasty acidity and generally delicious flavor.
Later I will make another post where I will indicate the procedures to prepare this delicious sweet and tell them how it has been mine.
