FruitsAndVeggiesMonday: Philippine's Native Pineapple

in fruitsandveggiesmonday •  7 years ago

This is the Philippine's Native Pineapple. It is commonly propagated in the wild through birds. What makes it different from other pineapple species or the domesticated ones either are the slips you can see on the base of the fruit. The slips seemed wierd but aside from the top it can be used to grow a pineapple because it takes more time to propagate one from seeds while it also takes time to bear a fruit.

That's interesting, I have never seen such a type.

Yes erikah. And you can really see it in the wild but after that typhoon yolanda I guess the wind brought this nearby the residential areas.

That is very beautiful pineapple.....I had no idea they even exist. I am very curious about the taste, so I would love to try one. 🍒 🍌🍑🍍🍓🍇

PS: I updated the rules, so please read it if you have not done so yet. Thank you :)

Thanks @lenasveganliving. I've already upvoted and resteemed one with the rules so I could reread the rules when I make an entry. I rarely find time to read now because I have a little one on a summer class and he would always want me to repeat what they had in school. He'd say, don't look at your phone. 😊

I understand my Dear...........the main thing you need to know is that the next time do your best and post 3 photos. That is the requirement from now on 🍒 🍌🍑🍍🍓🍇

It still tastes the same @lenasveganliving and the center is hard unlike the queen and hawaiian type that you may eat the center of the fruit.
