Eggs and buttermilk are animal products. Plant based/vegan means no animal products.

Eggs, dairy, seafood and fish, also honey are animal products. Although I can bend the rules a little when comes to honey, if it's from a small organic producer.

To add a smoky taste to your plant based recipes, you can use smoke liquid.

if you would like to find out more about how to cook without animal products, you are welcome to visit my blog https://lenanovak.wixsite.com/vegan-living

I will work on it

I re-edited my receipe to remove the strikeouts on the bacon / pork parts and I have deleted your @ and hashtags. I know that in blockchain they will always be out there somewhere but it is the best I can do because to take out the buttermilk and eggs would make the buttermilk cornbread no longer buttermilk cornbread and a vegan version would be less than savory. @lenasveganliving you may wish to add clarity to the link you gave for the competition as I can not find any thing that says vegetables cooked with animal based seasonings will be disqualified. I am sorry we have had this misunderstanding and I hope you have a wonderful Christmas.

I have tried several times but the hashtag for veggie monday won't delete.

I am not saying it will be disqualified, but I think that is implied in the rules. It's a big note red on white at the bottom of the rules.

Also, I know the hashtag is not removable, so don't worry about it, the Guest Judge knows the rules.
