John 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
A tree is blessed with many parts. There's the root, stump, branches and the leaves. In today's scripture, the Lord Jesus Christ figuratively reveals our position in God's family. Jesus is that tree of life planted by the Father from the foundation of the world. He's the express solution to humanity as it relates to our physical and eternal life. To this end, He has given us the privilege to become part of the redemption mandate by buying us over with His precious blood. He's given us the grace to become His branches (ambassadors) at a time like this.
It's an amazing opportunity to be relevant in God's family. We are commanded to bear fruits. The fruits of the Holy Spirit should manifest through us and serve as an evidence to the world that we belong to Christ. We are expected, as the branches, to have love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness and temperance.
In order to exhibit these fruits, we must totally depend on the vine who's Christ our rock of ages, for without Him we can do nothing. Cease the struggles and come to the feet of Christ today. Jesus is the only one that can make us relevant.
Let's pray together.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for the privilege to be relevant in your kingdom. Please help us to abide in you forever, in Jesus name. Amen.
