Matthew 6:33 King James Bible
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you.
Wow!
What a powerful scripture.
Inside unlocks the key to receiving anything in life you want.
Now when you first hear this saying you may think it means, "Put God first and He will bless you."
We know that in the covenant of Grace that God isn't interested in us doing something in order to earn His blessing, so this scripture is deeper than beats the eye.
Let's break it down.
First what is the Kingdom of God.
Romans 14: 17
GOD'S WORD® Translation
God's kingdom does not consist of what a person eats or drinks. Rather, God's kingdom consists of God's approval and peace, as well as the joy that the Holy Spirit gives.
Let first talk about "God's Approval". How do you get God's approval.
Let's look at this through the lense of Jesus.
When Jesus was baptized God spoke from heaven and said this is my son whom I'm well pleased (Matt 3:17).
Now at this time Jesus had not done one miracle, saved one sinner, or healed one blind person.
Instead God is pleased and approves of you when you accept and receive His gift of righteousness.
God is for you not against you.
Eph 2:8 talks about being saved my grace and not works.
This is what God's approval is about. It's about Him giving us His grace and we simply receive.
A life in Jesus is about what the savior has done for you.
Not the other way around. The curse of the law and it's demands are condeming because no man can keep God's law.
Instead Jesus fulfilled all of the law, so that we wouldn't have to.
So that we can live free from bondage and curse.
So back to our scripture...
So we know that the kingdom of God is peace and joy in the Holy Spirit, but what does this mean.
How do we have peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
We do this by getting to know Him through the Word of God.
The Bible says faith comes by hearing the Word of God (Romans 10:17).
So the more we hear the good news of Jesus the more faith we have because it is good news.
Nobody get's excited to hear bad news. It's not good news to fall into the hands of an angry God
But the good news of the gospel is God is not angry. The wrath of God was poured out on Jesus and God is just begging the lost to see this.
Jesus isn't condemning you, isn't angry, and He won't blot out your name from His book.
Jesus came so that we can have life and life more adundantly.
A life with peace and joy in the Holy Spirit is a Humble, But yet Abundant life.
This is the gift from God. His abundant life.
Ya see, God knows we are in need of all these things, and says don't concern yourself with worry about how you're going to make things happen.
Instead rest in a confidence of God's Got This, and stay in peace & joy in the Holy Spirit.
So when you want a new car, or you need a bill paid, or you want your business to grow and make you rich...
Remember that all these things are added to those who have God's GIFT of righteousness (available to anybody) and those who stay in peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
This act of peace and joy in the Holy Spirit is an act of rest. This is not something to get amped up to do. Instead it just simply means be happy, and God's word makes you happy and gives you peace because you can stand on God's promises.
Another thing... The King James word "added".
When it says "added unto you"
This word added in the literal Greek is a powerful Word. It means greater in quality or quantity.
So if you're in need of a husband or wife... Seek first the Kingdom and God's gift of righteousness and one will be added to you. One of better quality.
If you're in need of money to live free seek first the kingdom of God and His gift of righteousness and you will have more money.
In your spare time you may want to read Matthew 6:25 - 34 because you will constantly see Jesus telling you that you don't have to worry about your life.
People that don't know God seek after their own needs, but when you are a Christian God does this for you. Freeing you up to enjoy life without stress and worry.
I know sometimes it can seem like the world is coming down, and in my bouts with Schizophrenia I've felt some of the worse of times.
But take heart! Jesus is our savior and He doesn't play no games. We are co-heirs to the promise with Christ.
Part of this promise is being rich. Don't let your entire life go by and you still not believe in the abundance of Jesus.
It's yours for the taking.
The work of God is to believe in the one who He as sent (John 6:29).
All you need to have everything in life is belief. Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and God will give you everything you need.
The crazy part about it is in normal Christian life this is an everyday thing.
You may not realize it, but when you're at peace and joy you're at your best.
Thank God today for his blessing and continue to stay with Him.
God Bless!
