This week, we have been having fun as a family playing the Draydel Game. I do not know why it is spelled that way since it is normally spelled Dreidel. The kids light the menorah each night for Hanukkah and then play the dreidel game until someone wins!
Each person takes a turn spinning a dreidel and everyone calls out what it lands on. Then they have to pay or take pennies accordingly. It gets pretty intense when some of the other players are already out and it is down to two!
They are playing for pennies and then the winner gets to trade it in for a quarter. They start off with five pennies each. The winner is usually totally excited to get his prize at the end of the game.

That looks like fun! I vaguely remember making a dreidel once, in a grade-school class or something like that. We learned the dreidel song, too. That was long ago. (but not in a galaxy far away)

So true! They desperately want to play those as well. Given the choice, video games might win. ;) They love dreidels because the winner gets to keep the coins ($.20-.25)! ;)
