Its no secret that you can make a little extra cash on steemit by creating awesome and original content. If you do not have any experience creating content that engages and is original you may want to consider commenting and upvoting posts instead. Many of you may not think its very valuable to waste your time commenting and upvoting but I hope to convince you otherwise.

Strategy's for commenting and upvoting!

Look for creators with great original content and also looks for creators that reward those who comment on their post. Its important to leave comments that show that you appreciate the content and have read it or looked at the photos, etc. Find people who consistently produce good content daily or at least content that you enjoy following. I know how important it is to reward people who comment on my post so I try to always reward those who leave thoughtful comments that show they have read or looked at my content.

Lets look at some numbers and a strategy for commenting on creators posts that reward followers

150 x .2 =$30
150 x .1 =$15

Some people reward comments with even more rewards and I have seen it go as high as $5 or more. The crucial thing is to find creators that understand how important it is to also support those that support them.

Thanks for taking a look and please feel free to comment and ask questions below

P.S. If you would like a list of people that reward genuine user comments please leave a comment below. If I get 25 or more people interested I will put a list together of 100-200 original content creators to follow who consistently reward loyal followers.

Authors get paid when people like you upvote their post.

Sort Order:

Yes commenting meaningful comments can be profitable on Steemit. The only problem that new people would find is, that commenting meaningful comments takes time as well. You have to read the content to respond with a quality comment. And spamming the same comment on hundreds of posts will only get you blacklisted.

@azfix i'm glad you are still here! :)

I appreciate the comment @poss and am happy to see you continuing to produce some awesome content on Steemit. You are a great example of how steady commitment and original content can pay off long term.

Thank you! As i said in one of your previous posts. It's much easier when you stop making the impossible goals and just have fun without any pressure :)

It's something I regularly recommend to new steemians as a way to get a few SBD's to start doing post promotions to build their brand.

It's also a great way to grow a circle of friends that give you continued support as you grow on Steemit.

Plus it's just more fun than twitter.

The key is to monitor your posts and see if they are getting enough upvotes and comments otherwise you may be better off following, upvoting and commenting.

Note sure how many people have time to make 150 comments per day but I do understand what you are getting at.

Very true, the main thing is to do what you can on whatever scale you have time for.

I just figured he meant 150 times per month.

I've heard this, but putting the numbers there in print makes it more profound because alone the numbers can seem small and it's easy to forget they add up. Thanks for putting this info in a slightly different perspective.

Hope you get 25, the list, especially the size of it sounds awesome.

Its valuable to find a list that works for you with the kind of content you enjoy. My list would mostly be more of a guide to show that this sort of thing is available if you search a bit.

True, but there's a good chance of finding interesting authors on a list like that. Very valuable on many levels. :)

Great information! I look forward to “a list together of 100-200 original content creators to follow who consistently reward loyal followers” with much interest! I’m at 7th comment and hopefully you can reach 25th comments very soon! ;)

Thanks @tangmo I hope that enough people will be interested as well, but so far its not getting that much attention.

I think 39 votes that you received for this article at this moment can certainly be proved that we are interested in the list! I’m quite sure that you will get more attention if you present the list in your next article…. ;)

Informative article...thank you for creating my "first-read" and "first-commented on" article on Steemit. I'm a newbie to the community and plan on creating factual and entertaining content for others to read and thus, my knowledge of the terrain here has expanded just a bit more. I look forward in continuing to read more of your articles in the near future. Thx again!

Glad you enjoyed it, and welcome to Steemit!

Appreciate it!

Thanks for this article, I realized these days that I'm more of a writer or a content producer than a curator, most of the time I only read my followers' posts and support them back. Perhaps I should also go out there and find new authors to follow.

I think its always good to branch out a little now and then to see some different perspectives. My thing is dark sky photography and I try and focus on that when I have the time for it. You clearly have a talent for writing

Awww thanks. I look forward to more of your posts!

Yes, I really wish there were more people actually looking through the "new" content stuff and appreciating original work more.
Your list idea might be a good one. Unless a comment is spammy or very bot-tish I usually upvote. Seems like a nice way to give back some positive feedback.

Steemit is very strange because it encourages everyone to try and be a content creator when what we need to more genuine interaction. It also encourages people to crank something out daily or more or face falling behind.

I hope it's not too late to add a request for the comment rewarders! I have a couple people that I love to follow because they interact so freely and genuinely. I wouldn't mind meeting a few more!

Thanks for stopping by, I hopefully will have some new content to comment on soon

Looking forward to it! You put a lot of work into this post. It's really a treat to see one so well done!

I love the little 'azfix' cartoons!

This was a really good post @azfix, I'm sad to know that I missed the window on it, but am glad that this information still exists. I always think to myself of ways I can get more users to see my content.

What I've come to realize is that by leaving good comments, more people will want to know who I am. I apologize again for missing the initial 7 day window on this, as my comment is part of an experiment.

Have a great day! :3

You are exactly right, leaving nice comments that show you have read the content is a sure fire way to build up your following and make new friends.

Heya @azfix,

Thank you for getting back to me! Truth be told, I am going through my whole list of everyone I'm following to manually curate authors. I'm commenting everyone's most recent post, so that I can have a better understanding of why I followed in the first place. If I have nothing to say, they are gone. Just finished "A" last night, looking forward to your next post man!

Thankies again,
@shello

awesome dude i upvoted you . i hope you will do the same to me

This is a great example of a comment that most content creators would not reward. You may want to consider making a comment that shows you have read the post in order to increase the chance of engagement from others. I hope you consider this as I would like to see you succeed on Steemit.
