Is it Time to Burn @diabolika? - Whose Success/Life Advice She Will Take Here?

in fun •  7 years ago  (edited)

Hi Steemians!

First of all, this is not for my lovely followers who are already loving me for what I am - you know who you guys are, no need to mention.😘

I've been getting comments here and there, mostly from new members, and of course, from people (plural) who will just attack my ideas/me suddenly, or after a long time of not commenting. This is expected because tadaaaaaa - this is the internet.

Since this is the internet and I cannot talk to these people personally, there's nothing much I can do but just reply (can be sassy at times), downvote (which I only did recently and I feel 😈) or the best thing - ignore. Most of the time, I can't do the last one because, awwww I get hurt too. Sorry for that, I guess I have nothing to prove to anyone, there! 😎

I do understand that my posts might sting a bit, hence the attacks, trolls and other types of defense mechanisms. I don't know everyone and you don't know me, which means nothing personal. However, people get hurt. Ouch, I didn't mean to have an effect on you and I don't want to feel proud about it too. Don't even think I write about anyone in particular, geez.

Imagine you see a girl for the first time, walking. You see her face, the way she dresses, the way she walks but that is just about it. You have a glimpse of her and nothing more. Then you suddenly approach her telling her what to do in life, about success and all that. Uhmmm, excuse me?

Everyone has an opinion but not everyone has a clue.

You see, some of you might not even be really reading what I write. Some might be just scanning my articles, who knows? So get it, people don't have a clue. Unless you fly to me and we can spend some weeks together, but even that would not be enough. So maybe years?

There's also one thing I don't easily give, especially to those who beg me for it - attention. Sorry, I'm not being snobby, but it is just that a lot of people will do anything for attention these days.

Stop here, stop scanning and read - this is the internet and everyone has an opinion. Yes, I get you, so feel free to comment yours. But, don't expect me to behave according to your expectations or your illusion just as I don't expect you to behave according to mine. The nature of humans being conditional - which means if someone stops behaving/writing the way you want that person to, you just dislike that human.

Don't burn me yet, I really care. I really do.

I labeled myself above (profile) just to set some expectations of the type of dysfunctional articles you are following because I still do not want to disappont everyone. Some people matter to me. Oh yes, I hate labels, but I guess, I am just like everyone - not perfect. Surprise! I'm sorry to disappoint you. I guess I am evil after all, so 😈 come here and burn me.

Being open-minded does not mean you are opening yourself to all ideas - like to everything (is there even such a thing?), otherwise, your brain will become a bin, you know? Mixed with all that rubbish and other shit, so good thing, you are free to welcome anything that will work for you and reject ideas that are not true to your life. FREEDOM.

Perhaps, if I am really so bad, people can stop upvoting and just downvote me. It has been like 4 months and that is not the case yet.

However, here on Steemit, I am extremely nice (I hope) to my few loyal followers here who have been commenting and giving me positive vibes, not preaching about anything, disagreeing (why even upvote?), not attacking me, or imposing their beliefs. I am more understanding with their opinions because I have read their life stories.

So, if you are to tell me what to do in my own life or preach me about society, labels or success - make sure you have a high reputation score, success stories, books you've written, your life stories or a high investment (proof of financial success). Any proof that will make me slightly consider your opinion because honestly there's a lot these days, so confusing.

Deeds not words count.

I hope that I have nothing to explain anymore, so just read my life stories 😊 . Thanks!

Love,
@diabolika

disagreeing (why even upvote?)

I think a bit disagreement is good for the discussion and gives further insights. Otherwise discussions often degenerate to an exchange of some further upvotes, but do not add anything substantial.

make sure you have a high reputation score, success stories, books you've written, your life stories or a high investment (proof of financial success).

To evaluate a person here, I rather look how reasonable this person appears according to their writing and voting behaviour, everybody leaves a trace on the blockchain.

High reputation score means little, people can buy bot votes to upvote their mediocre or even low-quality posts, some whales upvote BS. On the internet one cannot be sure if stories are real, how much people did themselves for the success. Also not clear how much of their property people invested in steem, and how people got their steempower, there are scammers and plagiarists who made thousands before being discovered. Often the steempower mainly indicates when someone started here and what was the steem price then. There are big whales out here who believe that the earth is flat. And look at all that conspiracy theory nonsense on the trending pages backed by big amounts of steempower.

And to rate a comment or advise sometimes it's not necessarily to know the background of the person, at least if it itself makes sense. Sometimes people just give some inputs and when one has time one can research whether or not it helps.

Though I agree your above criteria may give some priorities what/whom to research, when one doesn't have time for all one is confronted with.

and just downvote me. It has been like 4 months and that is not the case yet.

Well, you are lucky, in your case people seem to be lenient.

thoughtful post:)

Irony @andrewmarkmusic lol.

Another post of truth!
I was at a workshop where they said that giving advice reveals the person giving the advice. I volunteered to sit in the middle of a circle, relate a real problem I had then everybody in the circle give me their advice. And, all I was allowed to say was "thank you". You can probably guess what percentage of advice was worthwhile.

  ·  7 years ago (edited)

For you to only say 'thank you' was like a test and part of the workshop about giving advice?

Wow, I can imagine. These are people you don't know right? Can you imagine people here on Steemit giving us advice and don't know even know us or see us lol.

I am even careful now of not giving unsolicited advice to people I don't know because I made the same mistake in the past, it can sometimes do more harm. It is true that it reveals the person.

The workshop was about leadership and had a broad section of teenagers up to retirees from all walks of life. This particular section was about giving and receiving advice. Saying only "thank you" was remarkably easy: At that time I'd been in design a few years and we solicit and process advice all the time. Yeah, I knew only one or two of the people there out of about twenty something people there.
I'm careful about what I give advice and to who. Typically only topics I'm at least more knowledgeable than most about and typically only to people who might be receptive. Ultimately, it's up to the person receiving the advice to figure out what to do with the advice. And, that includes the possibility of ignoring advice completely.
Most internet randoms probably aren't going to 1) have a good basis to advice from 2) not know you well enough to advise. But, it's all engagement and maybe their advice was given with good intent rather than outright trolling.

That is an interesting leadership workshop, saying thank you and not accepting everything.

It is definitely up to us (receiving advice) because we should know what will work for us.

The person who is also telling her/her opinion and advice reveals a lot about himself/herself (insecurities, failures, who that person is, enviroment she/he comes from), because we are all talking/projecting our own realities to the person receiving the opinion/advice.

It takes one to know one I guess.

I must admit I've not been following the background to this blog, a shame because it sounds juicy!

Anyways, fluck 'em and keep on writing, your way 😈

Hahaha, thanks. The journey will continue. 😊

And of course, I will take Bruce Lee's advice and yours. 😊

you better stick to Bruce ;-)

We already established my lvl of retardnetss :-)

Oh I forgot, I guess we should not listen to each other then haha.

Ok, let's just stick to Bruce .

People always will have something negative to say, the best solution is just to ignore them and keep being yourself.

P.S- love the GIF and the movie, but I forgot its name

  ·  7 years ago (edited)

Easy A, the movie is so cool right! 😊

Sorry to hear you're catching grief in these parts. I get the odd fuckwad emptying what little brains they have on some of my posts but I've never come across anyone who could outwit me. So they always get the worst of it! Karma!
But I never transgress rudely against anyone myself....
If you ever need time to chill and reflect and don't mind cold fuckin' climes.....
Can't say I'd really blame you for not wanting to leave paradise, though:D

People have short attention span, so who knows? Maybe they are not really reading everything or understanding what I write (forgive my untranslatable thoughts to english, and my english).

It is easier to attack, judge people we don't know anyway. I had become an attacker on a post some months ago, and I regret it now. I understand now that people here don't owe us anything.

Some people like to assume, we are our own assumptions. We can never know what others are really thinking. These writings are just glimpses of us.

Well, perhaps a little light-hearted fromage is in order for this post?

Haha, I haven't heard this in a while lol. 😊

Well, I have an older tune called, Devil in the Sunshine, and if I can find a recording of it I'll dedicate it to you on an openmic this winter.D
"who's crazy anyway? you make me feel, like a devil in the sunshine, ridiculous and sublime.....you make me feel like a devil in the sunshine.
Or something like that anyway.

According to some comments here (if you notice), you guys are being lenient to me. Awwwww, thanks for that. 😊

Go easy on me big boy. 😈
