To kick off my newly launched blog, I think it would only be proper to start with a series of posts about the best superheroes out there, The firts character will be chosen by me, but the next nine will be chosen by popular demand, please don't forget to drop a comment on who you think should be next on the list, or drop your whole list, anything goes my friends . Now that that's out of the way lets get into the first entry.
1 Superman
Who out there hasn't at least once heard of the Man of steel, not only is he one of the biggest Icons and most powerful heroes out there, but he also has some of the best storylines in comics, and even though the recent live-action Man of steel isn't too fan-friendly, I believe more justice will be done to his name in the unfolding DCEU. now lets go over his powerset.
Superstrength: This is basically a requirement for all heroes these days, but he takes it up a notch, with practically limitless reserves of pure unbridled strength, granted to him by his solar energy absorbing cells which channel the energy into his muscle and converts it into what makes him the strongest being on the DC earth, and one of the strongest beings in the entire DC multiverse. In the presence of a yellow sun he is virtually limitless in strength, but in mathematical terms he once lifted 200 quintillion tons with a single hand and without the sun.
He also lifted the weight of the world for 5 days without a single drop of sweat.
among other honorable mentions are turning coal to diamonds in his bare hands, tearing a hole in the source wall (thing from which everything in existence stems from), tanking various nuclear blasts point blank, I could go on and on, but one thing is sure, superman is strong.
superspeed: The speed of light is basically the standard of speed used to determine when a character is really fast in comics, but various times superman has been shown to surpass that excessively.
Superman flies from Vega to Earth in matter of minutes. Vega is a star 25 light years away from Earth. This shows Superman about of times faster than light.
While weakened and with no sunlight, he flew from the edge of the Universe to Earth in 60 days. I dont know how far the edge of the universe is from earth, but the universe is billions of light-years long, so to even fly half that distance in 60 days is a colossal feat. These are just two examples, i could give countless more, but they just wont stress how fast he is.
Flight: Superman is depicted flying in almost every other panel, its a power that's long been associated with the character and the symbolic 'S' on his chest.
High Durability: Superman is able to withstand an atomic explosion and even fly through the core of a star. He is also immune to non-Kryptonian diseases and all radiation except for that of a red sun or Kryptonite. Most people mistake his high durability for invulnerability, but that's because there is a very short list of beings/weapons/items that can actually harm him, kryptonite, magic and other kryptonians have been shown to at least draw blood from the man of steel.
Vision: In addition to X-ray vision and heat vision, Superman also has given telescopic and microscopic vision. He see across interstellar distances and observe events that occur on a microscopic and even atomic level. He can also see across the full electromagnetic spectrum, including infra-red and ultraviolet light.
Hearing: Superman can hear sound at almost any wavelength and at great distances.
Super Breath: Superman's breath is capable of freezing objects and generating hurricane-force winds. He can also hold his breath indefinitely, allowing him to travel underwater or in space without breathing apparatus.
Mental Powers: Superman possesses a genius-level intelligence and an eidetic memory.this is basically because krypton is a level 10 world (earth is a level 3) and his father (Jor-El) was on of the smartest if not the smartest krytionians, so he's got genes on his side. Superman also possesses the mental ability to screen out the enormous amount of information received by his enhanced senses, and to focus on a single detail, such as a particular voice or location. As well, his speed reading abilities are much like that of the Flash. He is able to absorb large amounts of information quickly; whether it entered his short term or long term memory is hazy. Under a yellow sun, a Kryptonian gains the ability to speak and understand all languages.
Stamina: Superman can survive indefinitely without food, water, or rest due to the yellow sun's radiation sustaining him.
Healing factor: Superman can regenerate physical damage to his body at an accelerated rate. He was able to regenerate when Wonder Woman slit his throat with her tiara in Wonder Woman #219. In the series Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Superman regenerates his body after being reduced to near a skeleton by a special nuke that was designed to blot out sun light and disrupt energy.
Who doesn't love this guy!
The reason I picked him as number one is not just he is one of the most powerful heroes, but he one of the purest heroes at heart, I mean he's basically a demi-god on earth who can do whatever he wants and no one could stop him, but he chooses to save kittens from trees, and help old ladies cross the road, I know it has a lot to do with Ma and Pa Kent raising him right, but that level of humility doesn't just come through teaching, one has do decide deep down to embark on that path, and that is the reason why amidst other more flashy, interesting, or popular heroes out there, he is the number one for me!
Don't forget to drop a comment on the topic and please upvote if you can, I'll try to reply as many questions as I can.

Nice start! I'd put Daredevil in a top 10 and he's quite a contrast to Superman! I tend to find it much more heroic when heroes are underpowered to their opposition, getting the crap kicked out of them and still pressing forward!
