This is a reality.
It appears frequently in Hollywood movies, it is the jetpack that does not become familiar easily. It seems that a product design in the UK has developed a submerged jetpack that can swim at 8 miles per hour.
Producer Archie Oblein first learned a similar underwater propulsion system thoroughly. It was said that he made Cuda Jet Pack in only one year of production period from design to production of operable prototypes.
The basic structure of the jetpack is the same as Jet ski, and it sucks in water and it spits vigorously backward. Mr. Oblein is reinforced with a custom-designed carbon fiber. It seems to be using a more compact impeller propelling system. Today, CUDA is moving towards commercialization aiming for the release in 2019. In addition, Mr. Oblein is expected to be active not only at leisure but also on seabed surveys and rescue.
Also, what is worrisome is its price. It is still not decided. There is a possibility of changing to an expensive one before sale after thoroughly testing the durability of 3D print parts.
Anyway, it must be a very fun device. It is likely to be a marine sport with the flying jet.
