The 3 A.M Call

in fun •  7 years ago

The soft moon light filtered through her silk curtains, casting light pink shadows over her sleeping form. Her chest rises and falls gently. He assumes shes asleep, finally. He rises from his hiding spot in the shadows among her furniture. He begins his search. Slowly and quietly through the house, he looks in draws and closets looking for the only proof of his involvement with her. Once her finds it, he knows he must execute his orders so he takes his time. Stalking through the familiar halls and rooms. Among the familiar scent she left about the small house. In the bathroom, he reminices the times they shared before looking in the cabinet and under the sink. Sorrow and dread fills his heart and clouds his vision with warm tears. In the spare bedroom, he found what he was looking for. He pulled the small booklet from the bedside table. It contained all his contacts information and boy they were mad he left it here. He knew his mission, yet he still got to close. Hell the boss would kill him if they knew just how close he had gotten. To be honest, he would to if the places were switch. Its a rookie move. He puts the booklet in his black Armani suit jacket and pulls an ebony flask from the pocket. He swigs down the hrsh liquid before replacing the flask with a gun. Slowly his shadowed form makes its way back to her room. Still sleeping, he walks to her bed glancing over the woman he'd grown so attached to. Shaking, he raises the gun to her head. The festering tears threaten to pour down his face, he turned his face unable to look at her sleeping form as hes about to shoot her. Just as hes about to pull the trigger, her eyes flutter softly open and meet. Fear fills her face as recognition lights her eyes, his face becomes awash with many emotions as he tries to do what he knows to do and fights his instinct to protect the girl. For a reason unknown to either of them, he turns away fleeing through the window in which he entered. As he disappeared into the night, she followed to the window. Covered by her satin sheet, she searched the road for him, seeing nothing. He just vanished.... Or was it just a dream? She didnt know. She checks the clock, 3:00 A.m, to late to go back to bed now. She walks to the kitchen to make coffee. While waiting, she decides to text him,
"Hey..."
A few minutes later, as shes enjoying her coffee, a reply pings in.
"I cant talk right now... Meet me where we first met. Tomorrow, at dusk. DO not contact me till then."

(More shall be posted at a later day, if this gets a decent following. I take all critisizism and recommendations}
