you may say that the force is not that strong or too much strong with this one, he manages to bring the rage of the huge Disney empire upon himself, Michael Brown decided to open a real-life Jedi School but Disney company was not that enthusiastic about this idea.

Star Wars is one of the most recognizable and popular brands in the world, a world of fiction, the instruments, the robots, the weapons and the general concept of 'good forces against the forces of evil', and created an entire generation of fans(I one of them).

An ambitious guy named Michael Brown is an example of one of those "star wars fanboys" Star Wars fans who has decided to make a job out of it - and opened not one but several Jedi schools where he can teach you how to fight using lightsabers.

Brown's business seems to have become very popular recently - and was summons to the California court, where Lucasfilm, founded by George Lucas himself and now a subsidiary of Disney, Copyright infringement.

he claimed that he had contacted the Lucasfilm representatives several times in the past in order to obtain a license or authorization to use terms such as Jedi and LightSaber, and also to use a logo very similar to an official logo from the movies, the production company claimed that they had sent a number of orders to Brown With a demand to stop the violations, before appealing to the courts.

honestly, I can see why Disney got pissed off on Brown look at this :

Some Disney and Lucasfilm rights have been violated:

you can't deny the similarity

If Brown finds fault, he may be liable to pay millions of dollars in compensation, but in the meantime, it seems that business activity continues as usual, and he is convinced that he is right.

Star Wars brand by amateurs and amateurs becomes much more ado and hard - and perhaps better to think twice the next time you want to deal with this guy:

*evil mickey mouse

while we already on the topic of star wars last time I wrote about a talented YouTuber who created a burning real-life lightsaber
https://steemit.com/science/@toresto/real-burning-homemade-lightsaber-i-felt-a-great-disturbance-in-the-force

but this time it's a whole different level this guy actually created his own real-life Jedi Academy.

and make sure to check out this awesome fun and surprising facts you probably did not know about animals

what do you think guys is it an innocent project of fans or a cynical exploitation of the brand in favor of personal gain? You are welcome to decide for yourself

@toresto
This is the type of stuff that will make Star Wars fans despise Disney... They should settle this in some other way...?

@friendly-fenix I think Disney less care about the fans and their enjoyment out of this fantastic star wars world, and the only thing they care about is making money from every opportunity they have.

That is not a very smart move... Disney needs to relax a bit...

this what happens when this guy

becoming this guy

I totally understand Disney it is a business, but I just can't understand how they can be mad at him for teaching using Lightsabers.

Profit is the key to creating liability here. You would need to license these things to use them and the holder of the trademarks and copyrights does not have to grant licenses.

Is this fair? Yes. WIthout the hard work behind Star Wars, the academy would have no business model.

that is 100 percent, Star wars it's a business and just like you can't copy Apple brand same as here, but the difference is that this movie became such a huge success because of fans at the 80's without it it's just a regular sci-fi movie, and while using the logo's it is a trademark violated I not see anything wrong with teaching people how to use Lightsabers.
