We propose these workshops as meeting and participation spaces to develop and enhance creativity and discover the advantages of textile recycling. Our clothes have a lot more life than we imagine.
Clothing says a lot about us and we create an identity and it is a way of expression. That's why we all like to show it off. What we do not imagine is the enormous amount of clothes that we buy and from which we undo. Because of this, our raw material is the textile, a waste that increases dramatically, damaging the environment, but with which you can create other surprising things (from expressive and artistic elements to other garments or accessories).
The participating students will have a first approach to textile sewing and recycling techniques and tools, and will participate in the process of making a collective object, designed in common and that can be exhibited.

In activities carried out, lovers of sewing and recycling, amateur, as well as designers, have been featured.

For two days, a large mountain of clothing will preside El Patio and, around it, you can discover different initiatives and activities around recycling, reuse and possible alternatives to conventional fashion consumption.

Children's workshop: imagine with your clothes

The idea of this workshop, which will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., arises by taking clothes and textiles into disuse as a creative and expressive element so that the little ones can experience and develop their artistic skills and abilities.

During this day, a great protest flag will be created where the motto will be embroidered: "fashion with purpose." Ask yourself, discover and act. "It will be made with used clothing from the mountain installed in the yard.

OBJECTIVES AND COMPETENCES.

Discover the possibilities of reusing clothes and fabrics that we often get rid of when they are still in good condition.
To approach the practice of recycling and enhance the value of what is handmade by oneself.
Enhance manual skills and abilities as well as psychomotor skills. Enjoy collective work as a process of social transformation and personal enrichment.
Develop a way of expression and creativity with a material that respects the environment, optimizing the minimum resources to the maximum.
Promote conscious consumption and sustainable development through textile waste.
For this, the following competences will be developed: teamwork, collaboration, skills and manual skills. Simultaneously, they will discover the opportunity that textile recycling offers us as a way of experimentation.

PROGRAM OF ACTIVITY.

It will offer a different workshop proposal, also of collective creation.

1.- Presentation

Through simple participation dynamics, we will introduce ourselves and make a brief introduction about what it is that leads us to recycle and reuse garments. Where does the clothing we wear come from and where does it go?

2.- Implementation

We will present 3 possible objects to be carried out and their development phases with clear and simple guidelines, so that they are placed in the tasks for which they feel the most motivation.

3.-Sample and closing

We will close the session showing the different creations made, remembering the steps to follow in order to replicate the process and sharing the different experiences lived during the process, collective and individual.
The final works will be in the Vastago Foundation to be donated to bebeficiencia entities.

INFORMATION OF INTEREST:

The activity will take place in Lecheria av principal, Venezuela (from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.) and with the accompaniment of the teaching staff.

PARTICIPANTS: The maximum group of students will be 20 people and the minimum of 15.
