Since the earthquake last summer many people in lombok have still been living in temporary shelters. We recently donated extra tarpaulin to secure these shelter for 5 families with donations from family, friends and fundition.

We having been hoping to be able to raise funds to build an earthdome home but also most importantly be able to teach the local people the technique so they can go an build their own dome homes.

As I have no experience in this building method, and have been trying to rack my brains how to build this. There was one other business on the island with earth domes but everytime I contacted them I hit a dead end. I have been in contact with someone who has alot of experience a guy named David from Italy, he has build earth domes all over the world and even runs his own course. Instead of going to do the course myself. Davide made the suggestion that he also travels to Lombok and builds an earthdome whilst teaching me and the local people!

This is a major step forward and I'm really excited about this opportunity that will give us and the local people the tools and skills to build affordable earthquake proof housing. Right now I need to raise funds to pay for davides travel expenses and cost to build the earthdome, there are some family members who will donate some of the cost and potentially we will make another fundraiser and with help of fundition we can realize this!
