Two Ways To Get A Better World
The "world" has a lot of problems. But there are also a lot of solutions.
Today I want to focus on the financial part and to tell you about a new solution, that I found last week.
By Achim Mertens
As you know, the world is very complex. To be more precise, there is no world at all. It is just a huge, huge amount of interacting systems. Subworlds, that overlap and partly use the same parameters. But if you turn one screw into the right direction, it goes wrong for another structure.
So it is with helping people. You cannot just give money to poor people, it doesn't help them.
People need to be educated, get a chance, freedom, love,…
In a corrupted or (mind-)poisoned world, gifted money only feeds the bad system.
One solution to help them, is to support their work. This motivates them and others to go on. People start to trade with other people and in the long run honest people are rewarded. Their systems start to change, because new rules and meanings enter the show. For example education gets important for success.
How can we help now?
There are a lot of projects and possibilities. I want to show you two examples:
1. Lend money and don't take interest
There is a solution called "cow bank". It is called like this, because a lot of people need the money for a cow.
They just register and ask for a relative small amount. They promise to bring the money back and they do it.
Here is one example:
I am registered at https://www.kiva.org since May 2012. The money I lent there was about 8 times given back and could therefor help 8 times people to start a business. All I lost in that period was 2,5% (that's much better than a lot of shares). So I still can withdraw the money, when I want.
2. Invest your money and pay your interest to people or projects
This is a new way of creating progress, supported by blockchain technology:
Imagine, there is a bank, where the interest of the lent capital doesn't go back to its owner, but to other people or projects, which the owner chooses. This is a win-win situation for all, that are busy or rich. Because busy people can earn that money and rich people have a lot of follower (which brings also much salary).
Don't you think, this would be a fairer world?
Yes it is - and it works very well and it grows. It is called "Steem". Your interest is send to others by giving upvotes to their posts.
But that is not all:
There are a lot of platforms, build on Steem, that support people and project. One of them is https://fundition.io
Here you can help people and groups by giving them your interest of your capital (called "sending hearts"). This means, the amount of your capital doesn't shrink.
You can also support by giving a donation, called "funding", which means, you help people but don't get the payment back.
A third option is to buy a reward which the project offers.
The big advantage of fundition is, that this is a platform where you can find a lot of projects sorted by categories. It is about crowdfunding but also about a lot of charity activities. And this works all without fee because of the Steem blockchain.
