Today's post has to do with a fund raising project aimed at providing assistance or helping orphan children in Malawi.

Pop Singer Madonna has decided to mark her 60th anniversary (which is falls on August 16) by providing support and aid to orphan children in Malawi. The Singer decided to partner with Ripple to raise funds that will be used to support these kids, a project she named Raising Malawi.

This fund raising campaign commenced on the 30th of July and will continue till the last day of the month of August. Ripple has committed her full support to this project and says she is currently matching all donations made to this project. Check out the statement issued by Ripple in this tweet

Currently, the number of orphans children in Malawi whose parents died due to HIV/AIDS related complications is estimated to be over one million and based on the information on Madonna’s Facebook page at the time of writing this post, $48,864 has been raised so far by 845 people in just 8 days.
