Flood Relief in South Indian state of Kerala - Update 13 - 04/Sep/2018

Dear Steemians,

This is the 13^th update post for the Fundition.io project I have created with regards to the fundraising for flood relief activities in the form of the donations to the Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund in the South Indian State of Kerala.

Before I give actual updates on Kerala situation, I would like to update that, as of now, we have got 445$ worth donations and upvotes a BIG thanks to @fundition as the larger part of that is in the form of upvotes from @fundition. I would also like to thank all others who have contributed in their capacity.

Updates for today:

There are more health concerns for the people in Kerala as the number of confirmed cases of leptospirosis today increased to 118 from yesterday's report of 73 cases and there were reports of 2 deaths today because of the disease.

It's notable that, eventhough the number of confirmed cases increased, but the count of deaths is lesser compared to previous days and that is possibly because of the awareness created by health minister and the doctors as we read yesterday. Hopefully the infection spread is under control.

In an important update from Kerala government, the government will not host any official events for an year including the International Film Festival of Kerala.

The money saved from such cancelled hosting activities will be used for relief and rehabilitation activities.

In another report from Kerala, it's estimated that approximately 220+ libraries are either severely damaged or washed away and needs to be total re-built. The government is seeking civil society and professional agencies to join hands with government in rebuilding activities.

Updates on donations and support for this project:

We had another upvote from @fundition, that means we are inching closer to the first goal of 500$ as we can see in below screenshot.

I am in a dilemma whether to create another goal seeking 3000$ (making it a total of 4500$) in order to achieve the realistic returns from this project of 1500$ as we can only realize 37.5% of the goal amount because of curation and 50% of remaining 75% credited as SP.
