Flood Relief in South Indian state of Kerala - Update 4 - 25/Aug/2018

Dear Steemians,

This is the fourth update post for the Fundition.io project I have created with regards to the fundraising for flood relief activities in the form of the donations to the Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund in the South Indian State of Kerala with a link to the Fundition.io project: https://fundition.io/#!/@coolguy123/9a52q7rmd

Today's Updates:

Commercial flights have started flying to Kochi today as navy opens it's airstrip for civilian use eventhough the Kochi International airport still not usable.

We can see the situation of Kochi International Airport, one of the 3 International airports in Kerala and it's estimated that a damage of INR 250 Crore incurred at Kochi Airport due to the recent flood.

The work in under progress to get the airport ready by tomorrow, i.e. 26^th August.

Kerala Chief Minister today confirmed that rescue and relief operations are nearing the end, but he confirmed the relief camps will be operative until the rehabilitation will be complete.

Kerala CM also confirmed today that over 1 lakh (100 thousands) houses have been cleaned so far and electricity has been restored in 23 lakh connections.

Cm urged the people to not to celebrate the famous Kerala festival of Onam and instead use that money to help those who are suffering due to flood.

The help continues to pour to the relief fund as Apple, the tech giant has announced that it will donate INR 7 Crore to the relief activities where as Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has announced to donate US$ 6,00,000(approximately INR 4.18 Crore Rupees).

The CMO office has estimated that INR 21,000 Crore Rupees(about 3 billion USD) is needed for restoring Kerala back to what it was before floods.

I would like to thank again the people who have come forward to support this cause along with Fundition and I am confident of achieving the revised goal of raising US$ 1500 as part of this fund raising activity and I would like to bring this to the attention of Witnesses like @good-karma, @surpassinggoogle, @aggroed, @timcliff, @c0ff33a and others to check this and support this cause and also spread news about this to reach many more to garner as much support as possible.
