Flood Relief in South Indian state of Kerala - Update 59 - 18/Nov/2018

Dear Steemians,

This is the 59^th update post for the Fundition.io project I have created with regards to the fundraising for flood relief activities in the form of the donations to the Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund in the South Indian State of Kerala.

Updates for last week:

Kerala government under program Rebuild Kerala has begun funds distribution for the construction of houses for people who lost their houses in flood in the month of August this year.

In first 2 days of distribution, about 3000 families who were identified as beneficiaries have got the funds.

Kerala is still recovering from the flood, but there are some reasons which are bringing happiness back on the faces of Kerala people and one such reason is the recent boat race, which is an annual sports in Kerala and people participate in it enthusiastically.

1000's participate in Nehru Boat Race every year and this year, about 25 traditional snake boats participated.

The Hindu news paper group handed over a donation of INR 4.75 Crore Indian Rupees cheque to Kerala Chief Minister including about 3.36 Crore INR collected from it's readers.

As I had mentioned in last update, there was a documentary by Discovery channel as a tribute to the heroes of Kerala flood.

Meanwhile another national newspaper, Deccan Herald also handed over a cheque with an amount of 1.36 Crore rupees.

Updates on Donations and Support:

I would always appreciate the support from Steemians, @fundition, @fulltimegeek, @fulltimeangel and the fulltimebots.

The total amount including all donations and upvote supports stands at 1159$ 1476$ out of the designated goal of 1500$ thanks to the always declining Steem price and the details are available in below screenshot.

As we are on the threshold of reaching the goal, I feel I should discuss the things with Fundition people to check whether I can increase the goal amount one more time in order to realize the original goal of 1500 realized amount.

I will give an update on this in my next blog.
