People of Fundition

in fundition •  6 years ago
Welcome to another edition of our new series Humans of Fundition where we will show you the real people behind the scenes. Friday has always been reserved for some fun or at least beginning of the fun and that is what we are doing. We are bringing you the relaxed weekend and reminding you that Fundition is there for you even on those days and you can always open your hearts and donate to your favorite projects. The best way to start a weekend is to meet someone new or maybe learn a new thing about a person you already know. Are you ready to meet a new person from Fundition?

We will regularly bring you interviews with our Associates, Ambassadors, and Angels so you can learn more about them and see the human side behind a project as big as Fundition. We will also bring you interviews with project founders and Backers and give you both sides of that crowdfunding coin.

Today we have one of our amazing Ambassadors from Nigeria to tell you about himself. He is @gentleshaid and we are very happy to have him on our team. Read along and get to know him, do not forget to visit his account to get even more information and read his posts.

Hello, welcome to our interview. Can you briefly talk about yourself?

I am a Nigerian, a lecturer, a writer, a husband and a father. I am social media savy and usually spend hours tweeting every day before the discovery of steem and steemit. On the steem blockchain, I found a way of monetizing my passion.

How long have you been using the Steem Blockchain?

I started using the steem blockchain through steemit which I joined on the 14th of November, 2017.

Did you introduce the Steem blockchain to your friends and family?

I did more than just introducing my friends and family, I got few of my followers on twitter to join as well as my colleagues at work

Are you working on any project for the moment?

I currently do not have any project on fundition.io but I have been preparing one for some time now. It is really a big one and requires a bit of logistics.

How long have you been in the Fundition Ambassador team?

I became a Fundition Ambassador for Nigeria in May 2018 after a rigorous interview process.

What motivated you to apply for the Ambassador role?

The decentralized peer to peer crowdfunding opportunity that Fundition provides coupled with the fact that they are more open to projects that could change the world and make it a better place for everyone. The heart giving means a lot and I believe Nigeria and Nigerians stand to gain so much from it.

How was it to spread the word about Fundition to your community? Was there a good response?

I will neither call it a success nor failure. The blockchain is an emerging technology and very few people have its knowledge. While people were opened to the idea of decentralized peer to peer crowdfunding, some have difficulties understanding how the blockchain works and this has been one of the stumbling blocks to getting founders to upload their projects on the Fundition platform.

What kind of event have you made up to now? or plan to launch?

We had a steem-related meetup last year in July in which I introduced Fundition to the steemians. There is going to be another big steem event this coming July and I hope to take Fundition along at every level.

Any words you’d like to say to the future Fundition Users?

Fundition has been doing great even in the bear market. A lot of people have successfully raised funds for their projects on the platform and I think the future looks great for the first decentralized peer to peer crowdfunding platform on the steem blockchain.

Very nice interview and it Greta to see a Nigerian on the table to be interview, it gives me great joy.

I also got to know about @gentleshaid from fellow friends on the blockchain about many of his work.

I hope to meet you in July, in SIN 3 (Nigeria Steemfest).

Oh...thanks for the kind comment. I could not attend SIN2 due to office engagement and I am eagerly looking forward to making SIN3. Coincidentally, this will fall within my annual leave period.
