Donor Wednesday 20.02.2019.

in fundition •  6 years ago
Another Wednesday and another time for us to interview one of the biggest donors from last week. We love presenting you with people who have big hearts and big dreams of changing the world. Speaking of dreams, are they spelled with an a or with a double e? Hmmm... I guess we will find out together...

We are excited and proud to announce the 3 top donors from last week, a big round of applause please... oh, and a drum roll would be nice...

@dreemsteem was kind enough to answer our questions. She is an incredible person behind the Welcome Wagon, a group that helps guide and teach newcomers to steem. She is also the founder of an amazing project called Spunkee monkee and we hope you will get to know her better in this little interview. Follow her example and open your hearts on our platform. Support projects that you like. Who knows, maybe we will interview you next...

1.Where in the world are you based?

Hi Fundition!!!! I'm in California, currently covered in the most snow that I think I've ever seen! Ok that is an exaggeration because I grew up in Pennsylvania! haha but it feels like the most I've ever seen in California. That HAS to be true! Here are some pictures that I've recently posted on @actifit! hehe Enjoy the snow - because SOMEONE surely should be enjoying it - I certainly won't be!

2.How long have you been on Steemit?

I've been on Steem since November of 2016. So much was different back then! I've seen a lot of changes come and go, but I do believe that as long as the heart of Steem keeps pouring into what makes Steem special, it can rebound and grow! Finding a way to protect that "heart" will be the key to whether or not we can thrive. It takes community and connection to do that, I believe THAT is the "heart" of Steem. If we can figure out how to regain some of the connection that we've lost and rebuild the community in a way that everyone benefits - then we will have a win/win/win/win. (and anyone that knows me - knows I like at least 4 wins.) hehe

3. How did you hear about Fundition?

I don't remember exactly where I heard of it - but what I DID hear of it could not prepare me for the actual EXPERIENCE of it. There are a few communities that I am absolutely PASSIONATE about representing well here on the blockchain - and Fundition is one of them. As a matter of fact, I just recently suggested to @jimramones that he do a small Fundition campaign to help him! He is the talented artist for @spunkeemonkee, and an amazingly hard worker! Many people on Steem have seen his work and love it! His computer was his sole means of reliable income, and he recently lost it. With the tragic economic situation in Venezuela, I'm sure you know what this means for him and his family. He did the Fundition, and it is halfway fulfilled! All because of FUNDITION and the COMMUNITY coming together to help a fellow Steemian, he may be back on his feet again soon! To me, Fundition is not about handing out money. Fundition is about equipping people with the opportunity to make their situation better! Whether it's a personal tragedy like @jimramones, or a business opportunity like @spunkeemonkee - it's the community coming together to reach a goal as a unit. When community acts as one, it is powerful!

4. What sort of project do you most like to support on Fundition?

With Fundition, I like to support things like Jim's situation. It's funny because as I was trying to get some support for Jim on his Fundition and hoping that people would be willing to give just $1 - I was convicted of something important. I have only supported 3 campaigns on Fundition. Why would I ask something of others, that I'm not doing myself? Two days ago, I committed to myself to be more supportive - BEFORE being asked. A beautiful example of this was @snook. I had asked a few people in DM - if they would consider supporting Jim. Much to my surprise, before I had asked, @snook had already funded, upvoted and resteemed. I try to be known for my generosity on Steem but I still see there are ways where I can be improving!

5. One last word?

One last word? How about a formula instead? hehe Everyone that knows @shadowspub, knows her big word is Community. @enginewitty is all about Family. My focus in @spunkeemonkee and @welcomewagon (and really in life!) is always Connection. I think when they all come together, we are a force to be reckoned with! Community + Connection + Unified Family = Unstoppable Power

Supporting means giving your time, energy, resources, and it means giving your love and a part of yourself. That is why we have little hearts for donation and by giving those little hearts we are spreading love all over the world and making it a better place for all of us. Those that support need recognition for what they are doing and we will provide it for them.

Every week, best donors will be contacted by a member of Fundition team and asked some questions. Those questions and the following answers will be published so you too can enjoy them and learn something from them. We hope they will even inspire you to follow in their footsteps and give as much support to projects as you can.

Thank you for your never-ending support @fundition! This was a great post! Thank you for taking the time to reach out to the people in your community - it makes such a difference when communities care :)

It's my honor to be a part of yours .... and of course - dreem, steem, spunkee, and monkee ALL have double e's hahahaha

anyone who spells it differently is misguided hahahahahaha!

Thank you for spelling all ours RIGHT :)

@zen-art - you are amazing :)

  • dreemsteem, for Spunkee Monkee

It is always a pleasure to work with people like you, the honor is ours.

excellent interview, certainly quite complete. It is brief, but you enjoy reading dreem's post, because of its sincere words and its so nice way of expressing itself, I love it, without a doubt it is a good example of the steem chain.

This is really great that you write a feature of your donors once a week!

It's wonderful to see that the appreciation is there.

We are also inspired to write featured posts later for both donors and recipients, when they allow... perhaps you have some advice on what questions to prompt?

Best regards,
Daily Bread Food Bank

We hope you will do that, showing people that you care about them is important and goes a long way. As for the questions, use that opportunity to both get information about the person and some feedback to what you are doing.

Yes, we are planning to do that at the same time validate all the recipient families. The Food Bank has limits in supporting with limited funding, but if we get to know those people and donors then this can spread further awareness.

Thank you for the suggestion

Best regards
