ScholarsPH Blog #14: Food Showcase from Mark and Myke

in fundition •  6 years ago  (edited)

School life is never easy! We are bombarded with several requirements, both written and performance tasks, which do not only require our time and effort but also our financial resources. But with hardwork, perseverance, and consistent support we are getting from you Ma'am and the people behind @scholarsph and its supporters, all of these challenges can easily be overcome.

These were the words coming from our two hardworking scholars, Myke and Mark, when they received their third monthly stipend of Php 1,000 each. As their teacher, I am very happy to see them getting the financial help they truly deserve.

In Myke and Mark 's introduction posts, we mentioned that both of them are deaf and mute. They are very well aware that they have limited opportunities in the corporate world because of their condition, so they are doing their best to gain knowledge and skills that they can use in the future to earn a living. Hence, enrolling in a technical vocational school.

Right now, they are majoring in Food Processing. They believe that they can use the skills that they can acquire in this short course to start a business once they graduate in Senior High School. So far here are the processed foods that they were able to make: boneless bangus, bagoong (fish sauce), pineapple jam, and pickles. There will be more food that they will be processing in the coming days such as: tocino, longganisa, smoked bangus, etc. They are very excited to learn more especially now that they have financial assistance that they can use for buying materials and ingredients.

What I love about these students is that they are very transparent with how they are spending their stipend. This is also my way of making sure that they are spending their money wisely. So far, they have been very wise in this matter. Check out their financial report below. :D

On behalf of Myke and Mark, thank you so much to all our supporters! Because of your constant support and generosity, we are able to help more and more youth in making their dreams a reality! Much love and gratitude!
