If you follow my blog you know I never shitpost nor try to publish something just for the sake of posting.
I wish I had an alt account to post this kind of stuff due to autovotes but hey, I really wanted to let you know where I'm sleeping tonight because I'm having a real laugh right now.
Today I went to Mexico city to take care of some paperwok, while I was there i did a small conference speach about steemit to some entrepreneurs but it didn't go as planned, so no story about that.
After that, a pal invited me to a dinner with friends, i wanted to say no, but when I'm in my country I always say no to social events with people who are not really close to me, so I figured today was a good day to say the hell with it and accepted.
Anyway, after dinner and drinks, to avoid paying for a hotel - you know Im as cheap as it comes - I spent the night in his house. His mother is a children psychologist so yeah, I slept in the "questioning room", here is the picture of my sleeping room for tonight.
So steemians, whats the crappiest yet funniest place you have ever slept on?
The answer that makes me laugh the most, gets a 50% vote on his/her greatest post that's still votable.
Hehehe, the worst thing that could probable make you sleep in a very crappy place would be the case of being stranded. Funny enough I never slept outside my home because my parents felt I was still naive back then and could't take care of myself alone.
When i was about to gain admission into the tertiary institution, my parents had no choice but to let me travel alone for my registration. I was happy because for the first time i was being looked at and treated like a man without knowing doom was about to befall me (Laughing at the experience right now).
it was a night journey cozz i needed to be in school the next morning. Our stupid bus decided to spoil in the middle of nowhere. By my left and my right were thick bushes and trees, I was so scared that I practically wet my pant (No jokes), I was still naive and it was my first time so what did you expect (Lolz). We all couldn't sleep in the car because the road was very lonely and those who passed by told us that area was very dangerous and notorious for armed robbery.
Long story short, I had no option but to walk a distance into the thick forest, laid the bedspread I was traveling with on the ground and slept off, should i say i slept? coz I was practically sleeping with one eye open only to wake up and see a goat sleeping beside me.
Words might not be able to describe how I felt that day but till today, I still call that day my worst travel experience ever.

I'm an aircraft mechanic and have been for a long time. Well, in my early days they worked us like dogs. I'm talking 13-14 hour shifts for 6 days per week for multiple years. At least we took 90 minute lunches.
Well, that type of schedule leaves you deciding if you want to do anything besides work or sleep then sleep has to give up.
Did I mention that I was working the night shift? I was.
A normal crew is 3 people. Our last job for the night was to inspect an aircraft. We can get this done fast as it has basically become our life after all this time working.
I choose the tail section, and on this aircraft there is an internal ladder that goes all the way up to a hatch on top of the tail. Really cool views to watch the sunrise/sunset. So I am climbing the ladder checking all the actuators and lines and whatnot. Ya know, just inspecting things.
I finish up and am at the top of the tail ladder, but still inside the plane. Tiredness just hits me. I figure that I can close my eyes and take a few Zzz's up here. I mean, no one can tell if I am sleeping and I will hear them open the lower hatch to access the ladder in the first place. I'll just rest for 5-10 minutes.
So I lock my body into the ladder and doze off. Suddenly, I hear the hatch open and a voice call out. I answer back and say I just finished up and am coming down.
Turns out I was sleeping for 2 1/2 hours on this ladder inside the tail of an aircraft.
That was the crappiest place I have slept.

I already knew your job but to be able to read about the experiences within the biz is awesome man. You sure have had some interesting moments! Damn, those early days must have been rough, i´m glad you are past that.
Hahaha that one definitely is the strangest place to have a quick nap - or in your case, a medium length one haha - but hey, at least you can say you slept on a plane while it was on maintenance time and not flying time ^^

I’m as cheap as they come too. To the point of traveling across the country for years and maybe taking a hotel room once or twice? Haha so the crappiest/funniest random sleep to come of this is one night my partner and I came out of the mountains to a mountain town. We’d hitch hiked an epic series of rides down the coast making over 600 miles that day and gotten dropped off in this town at night. Now I hate towns because usually you aren’t allowed to sleep outside - in a park or something the police patrol and kick everyone out. So with our bags and everything, we found we were right outside the town’s library with these huge bushes. We were super tired and we set up our sleeping bags and pads in Southern California inside these tall bushes, trying to find cover from the incessant lights and hide so we could actually get some shut-eye before morning came and we had to get on the road again.
Just as we started to go to sleep and were dozing off, the library sprinklers go off inches from us and start spraying us with water!! Cursing and now wet and still with no sleep, we jump up screaming, half naked in the middle of this town, grabbing our stuff and leaping out into the lights to escape the water!!! Hahaha
Funny enough, I think we were so tired we went back into the bushes after the first round stopped cuz we really needed the sleep!! I think we got like three refills of coffee that next day!! Lol definitely memorable!

Oh wow that sounds like the kind of travelling I´ve been up to the last months, just sleeping wherever and trying to save as much as possible even if the conditions are not suitable for the avergae tourist but then again, we are travelers, not tourists, right?
Did I tell you I slept for a few hours in a park in Lisbon? Coldest place I´ve slept on, perhaps because of the lack of jacket - don´t even mention blanket.
That sounds like fun times, I think you win this round, regarding bush-sleeping haha.

Yes... my sentiment as well... a traveler is on the ground with the people, and sometimes that means not having where you're going to sleep worked out yet! Always brings up a better story, in my opinion!
And in a freezing park with no blanket and jacket!? that sounds rough! I have been cold sleeping and that is usually no fun... As I said above tho, usually makes for a good story :D hehe

I was reading your post and it remembers me at my time when i was an service technical for my company. We had at this time so much business with Chinese customers. So we was selling low pressure die casting machines. So i was getting the order to fly over this place for a about 18 days. 18 Days later .... hahah no it was not like in this Zombie movie like 48 Days later . But i was an nightmare . You have to know that this place was very deep into china . I was near to the border of Vietnam. I would say... It was into the bushes. :-D I remember when i was drop out of this very small plane .. and went over to the car that would picked me up to my location. It was an black old limousine Mercedes Benz S class. His suspension was like the feeling on an boat. So we was driving about 2,5 hours to my company. My last Trip was somewhere in Wuhan and there i was sleeping with all of my clothe in my bed there. So i think to my self.. Markus it cant getting worse as the last place. and... It comes.. I was driving into an village.. I was seen only some buildings and in the middle was this foundry. It remembers me like our German castles . They also in the center an all getting around. I was driving in to the main place inside of the foundry and i was thinking by my self. What the hell where you are here. I had in my mind that i was not seen any building that was looking like an hotel. No.. the big boss walking faced to me with this smile in his face. I was recognized, that i say to my self .. look him he knows that i am no at hell. And it was like. I was getting an small room in the foundry. Yes it was inside the foundry. An bed a toilet and an Chinese TV. The horror trip would begin after work. I was eating all those stuff where i had no idea what it is and then i though Markus now you need some sleep. No...chance. From 1 o'clock till to morning the main Air Compressor for the hole factory was running. Each night.. It was horrible. Because the place of this Compressor was only about 10m away from my bedroom. In this time i was getting such stomach problems that I lost in one week about 8kg . You cant believe how happy I was when I was getting back to Hong Kong an had the chance to sleep in an 5 star nice bed. It was for me like some was rescue me out of Guantanamo.. :-) Many Greetings Markus

Wow, this is really a great one, it just made me have a throwback to some years back.
I was in a friends house, it was very last, he offered that I spend the night, but I refuse, that I have to go to my house to spend the night. After insisting he allowed me left. On getting home i couldn't access my compound because it the closing time have been exceeded. I had to sleep under a canopy in the which is very risky. The fear of being robbed made me sleep with one eye open. Even Mosquitoes sounded like armed robbers, it was so crazy that each time a mosquito pass i jumped out of fear, thinking i have been invaded.

When I was little and during festive times, we'd go to our grandparent's to celebrate. Everyone in the entire family (40+ people) would gather for a few days; enjoying the company, joy, and food.
Consequently, there would be limited good sleeping spots so us little kids would get a decent but not great futon mattress laid across the floor in a giant living room with only a few pillows and blankets to share. Say 5 of us. Would get like 2 of each.
So having to share a tiny space sucked in the first place but I'd have to be the ones sleeping in the center with people on both sides. Miserable times, I tell you.

After my first time smoking herb, I passed out in front of my friend's giant projector TV while they were playing Super Mario on N64. I woke up stiff as a board the next day because I slept all night on the cold wood floor using a backpack full of school books as a pillow, and I wasn't even mad...that was the best sleep I had ever had in my entire life. Haha

Hahaha you were spoilt for choice! We are sure you slept on the sofa bed, but that ball pit looks so inviting ;) or in that other kids playpen thing.
We haven't been that fortunate to obtain a full sleep in a crappy place yet, but a friend of ours can sleep anywhere. He once slept standing against a bus stop whilst waiting for the night bus - that was quite a sight.
Sleeping on the night bus for a nap is probably the crappiest and funny place for us, but it doesn't count as a full sleep. Yet, you get drunken idiots talking shit, doing cheeky things ;) and to seal the deal: vomiting near you. Please let us enjoy your dinner all over our shoes! Such is life. It's all in good humour as we have been there before.

Wow dude... Where to begin? I slept under a bridge once (long story).
I've slept on the floor a lot. I was working as a security guard at a big flower show close to Manchester and we spent all night, every night partying so we'd catch up on our sleep during our breaks by sleeping on the floor of the security office for an hour at a time. As soon as the shift was over we'd go out partying again. It was nuts...
Funniest/crappiest was probably the time I fell asleep on the last train and woke up 40 miles from home with no idea where I was and no money for a cab. I eventually found an unlocked car and crashed for a few hours until the stations opened the next morning.

It happened. I was partying in Fullham Broadway in London and missed the switch at Earl's Court and woke up in Upminster. I was living in Ealing at the time. There are 43 stations between Upminster and Ealing. It took me 4 hours to get home the next morning. I thought about just sleeping outside the staion but it was bloody freezing so I walked around a bit until I found the unlocked car and just crashed. Afterwards I did wonder what would have happened if the owner had come before I woke up but he/she probably still doesn't know that their car was my shelter that night!

Yeah those days are long gone... I'm almost 34 and there's no way I could do that now. I could still manage until about 27 or so but now I'd be useless after the first day!
40 miles, give or take. If you look at the map of London Ealing is FAR west and Upminster is as far east as you can go on the tube. You're right about the car though. This was about twelve years ago. I haven't been back to London since 2008 but from what I hear I shouldn't try the same stunt now!

A Greyhound bus. This dude beside me was on pills or something. High as a kite! He couldn't stay in reality for more than a minute. A few times I woke up... and he was cuddling me. Oh can I join? Well there were 2 times I think were kind of funny, while as a student nurse we were assigned night duty once we were assigned to the delivery room but there were no patients so around 12 midnight my companion and I decided to sleep on the delivery tables since it was empty, we just put the stirrups down and raised the end. Not that comfortable and we were lucky no emergency deliveries. The morning orderly woke us up when he laughed so hard when he saw us. We were wearing our white uniforms with scrub gowns. My friend was lying flat with her legs slightly opened like about to deliver. Glad I was lying side ways. The second was whe I attended a conventon with friends and we bought our kids my daughter was in elementary then. Since there were only 2 beds some of us slept on the floor using the comforters as mattresses over the rug. It was ok but my daughter moves too much, I woke up half-way under the bed, luckily my lower half.

Of course! Anyone who´s slept in a weird place, or weird situation, or has a friend who did (yeah right, a friend lol) can join.
Some hospital routines are so hard! In Mexico nurse/doctor shifts can go up to 36 hours straight so I can totally understand why that would happen in a hospital! So lucky no emergency deliveries were needed that night!
Right on, as long as the upper body is not cold as Russia, you won´t get very sick from sleeping in the floor :P

I took a trip to NYC with a bunch of classmates a few years ago. I was bunked with a male and female classmate in a double Queen room. The room was beautiful, but I had to share a bed with the worlds loudest snorer.
After one night of literally no sleep, i knew I had to do something. The only other “room” where I could close a door between me and the snoring bear was the bathroom. So, I asked the front desk for extra pillows and a blankets and made a makeshift bed in the bathtub. I slept there for the remaining 6 nights of our stay.
notes: I kept the shower curtain drawn so people could go to the bathroom overnight and I got up first every morning and removed my bedding so they could shower, too.

I really did kind of live in that bathroom for most of the trip. One of the other students even bought a case of beer and we drank it at "my place," aka three of us sitting on the bathroom floor watching YouTube videos on my iPad.

Hi Eric! Well I had made friends with this guy on MySpace and we finally met after eight years, we met at his parents house I had to drive four hours, okay I am OCD with cleaning, everything has to be perfect spotless and in its place. Well when I saw where I was going to sleep I almost died, the house was a hoarder house. It was piled to the ceiling with pure trash the kitchen was disgusting I was having panic attacks, when my friend showed me where I was going to sleep it was in the living room it was a very old very stained mattress with no sheets surrounded by trash, he and his wife slept on the floor on blankets next to me. The thin mattress was on the floor and it stank from plates of half eaten food all around the bed and dirty drinking clothes, I never slept I was thinking about the nasty mattress and thinking about roaches, mice, I never did sleep. You know I was homeless for a long time and slept in many unusual places but this was by far the worst, something I never want to relive, that's the worst place I ever slept in. But I'll tell you Eric this picture of where you slept looks so messy I couldn't take it after what I've been through lol, no more!!!!

I was in the polytechnic and I went for a vigil one night. It was a choir rehearsal and I was the representative of my fellowship. The rehearsal finished earlier than expected around 2am and everyone dispersed since we could walk in groups. When I got to my lodge, the gate to the compound was locked as usual. I knocked the gate several times and no one answered.
I thought I was beginning to wake neighbors in other compounds with the noise, so I decided to stop, not to cause a scene and to go back and pass the night in the church where we held the vigil. By the time I got there, the church too was already locked. Then I knew I was in trouble.
It then began to rain. I was scared. I couldn't go back home. I walked a while in the rain and I saw a building under construction. I hid there at least, to shield me from the rain. It was so cold. The wind blew like I was in a refrigerator. I managed to sleep on cement cartons but it was horrible. I got home shivering the next day.
That was the most horrible night of my life.

I love this "crappiest place to sleep" challenge :D Some of the entries here got me really lol, including your questioning room :D
As for me, I have already tried a few crappy (but not that super unusual I guess) places such as a bench at a train station (thank you my friends for promising me to stay and party with me all night long and then going home, leaving me waiting for the early train), musty basement of an old Boston apartment (that "couchsurfing" experience sucked really bad), "flat" rock by the sea (easily the least comfortable so far), countless nights spent at different airports etc. but the only unusual sleeping experience that i actually have documented and can therefore share with you, is me sleeping on the balcony of an apartment in Prague where I lived in a few years ago... it was just too hot isnide that night :D

Funny really. The crappies place I have slept which was few months ago was to after attending a vigil and of course finished at about 2am, the only available space to sleep was on the chair. The chairs are single sitting chairs with just 3 pieces available to me for ghat sleep I wanted. Of course I had to arrange them together and slept on it with my leg dangling as the length wouldn't take my whole body lying. Waking up the next morning gave me some very serious aches. It was a good sleep though with series of sweet dreams. 😀😀😀

But because the room was 98% filled with beer, I had to stand and sleep in the beer store till dawn 😂😂😂😂😂🤣😂🤣

I once slept on my chair while we were in our dormitory. The teachers were quite strict in terms of keeping us awake to continue our study for examinations. Since when i went to sleep during study time, the teachers fetched a cup full of water and threw it on me to wake me up. I suddenly woke up thinking i am at home but by looking around i realized this is " Study Period". This is the funny story i can relate to your post.

A place full of insects like earwigs and giant spiders which were walking over my bed made of hay. Maybe it was not such a great idea to hold a sleepover on the hayloft to sleep by our horse hahah. Luckily my best friend was not scared at all and could keep me quiet :p

I once slept in my lecturers office. I was having a long day, and he called me in to help him mark scripts and guess what?.... I slept on the job😖😖😖... He decided to teach me a lesson by locking me in... One of the worst days I've had, but still makes me laugh when ever i see him in school.

When I was still in my academic years, I used to drink and smoke a lot. Almost everyday, that's my routine. So I always end up sleeping in streets or in public vehicles hahaha. The worst part is that I didn't know I was already sleeping with my own shit hahaha. Damn that time was ridiculous!

Hooo great
I'm gonna share my great sleeping experience, I hope it make you laugh like it always does, each time I remember the experience.
On this faithful night, I had to visit the library to prepare for my exam which is by 9am. On getting to there by 10pm, I decided to rest my head for some minute before reading. Then someone hit me at the back;
Hey sir, please I have to clean this place,
As I raise up my head I realize it was 7:34am, lol i quickly rush hope and went for the exam without reading.

Lol. There was this one day I left home and came back very late. Everyone is indoors already and all doors were locked. I didn’t want to knock as nobody knew when I left.
I had to sleep curled up on our back verandah, mosquitoes finished me that night.
Looks like this but bigger.

Lol, I couldn’t just let this post slide cuz it reminds me of that wonderful day I went out for a party, didn’t expect I would stay out long, so I didn’t get to tell anyone at homeboy to stay up for me, and by the way I felt I could always call someone to open up the door when I got back.
Had so much fun at the party, so I kept taking pictures and making videos untill my phones power ran out. Getting home, I couldn’t call any body to open up for me, had to walk to Munich aunts place at about 2:00 am but her gate was locked and I dunno where the gateman went to cuz he wasn’t responding to the bell. So I had to walk back home, and slept on the car till about 6:45 am when my sister woke up.

Please tell me you slept in the ball pit! And the "questioning room" sounds so ominous!
As far as "funniest" sleeping spot goes, I once slept in a hammock that was hung above a friend sleeping in another hammock. We thought the double-decker thing was hilarious, until I had to go pee in the middle of the night and climb down and back up without stepping on his face. I'm glad I don't roll around much in my sleep - that would have been a long fall! But it was still far from my least comfortable night, so can't really say it was crappy. Schweeee!

You know me, obviously I slept on the floor :P
Oh right on, I´ve seen those, I once saw something like that, (didn´t sleep) a two floor hammock open room in Nicaragua. Perhaps they were about 6 or 8 bunk-hammocks so 12ish people sleeping in the same area, funny funny.
I reeeally think we would hit it off very nicely if we ever find ourselves in the same traveling spot!
Sccc-chhhhh-WEEEEE!!

That room sounds really cool! I love my hammock so much that I once considered sleeping in it permanently. They're wonderfully lightweight and versatile until the moment you end up above the treeline and you're left on the ground without a mat.

Went to visit a friend, some 20 years ago. You know, was a time when you actually didn't care about a lot of stuff to get a ticket and go wherever you are invited to.
So, we chat and party and everything went so great. Then, i asked him where should i sleep. I figured out i'd sleep on a couch or something.
The attic.
The dark, dusty, filled with deadly nightmares attic.
So, i said no and went to a hote... OFCOURSENOTDARNIT!! Because, you know, respect and stuff.
So, my bed was actually a couple of woodcases, with a carefully washed white blanket (Oh, irony).
Yeah, i slept there alright. On the blackest night of my life, hearing things moving, crawling, hunting, eating, plotting to devour my soul or whatever. All night.
So, naturally, i became a fan of horror stories since then.

Mine was during church on a bench with no backrest. People told me they were afraid I was going to fall over. They didn't want to say anything during because they didn't want to interrupt the pastor. Either that or a few times on a boat while on our way to the diving spot. I would usually wake up due to us hitting a big waven that would send me flying.

This is easy.
Firstly, I'm a music student and our building has a very prestigious music hall attached to it that hosts a lot of shows and is sometimes open to the public.
One day between classes I decided to go lie down on one of the sofas in the foyer as there was no one around at the time.
After about 15 minutes I fell asleep.
This isn't odd as I do it quite often.
The crappy yet funny part is that when I woke up the foyer was filled with people waiting for a show to start in the hall! As I struggled to open my eyes I could hear people giggling and pretending to look the other way.
It was very embarrassing, though now I laugh about it because it is very funny.

But that's not what I want to say, sometimes we do not want to be a cheapskate but for some reason so have to think long to eat.
Look at the fat people, sometimes they are not not eating but if eating will make him danger.

The strangest place we slept in was a guesthouse in Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka. We were their fist non Sri Lankan guests. So Mike was hanging up laundry and then I heard this crazy screech, he came running into the room in panic. While he was hanging up the laundry he glanced over to the roof right next to him (2 meters or so). And there was a huge Boa Constrictor basking in the sun. We told the the owner of the place ... he was laughing and said, no worries she is our house snake, she catches the rats under the roof. We looked at each other and were like: WHAT RATS!
hahah We also had to a kill a tiny scorpion in our room. Ohhh we miss Sri Lanka.

I was visiting a friend in Miami during college. We went out to the bars in Coconut Grove and at some point got separated. His phone was off. He lived with his parents in college. I took a taxi back to the place and the door was locked. It was like 3 am this was during the week so I didn't want to wake up his parents who would work the next day and I was pretty drunk. I just didn't feel right waking them, even though they are really nice people. Fortunately my car was parked in front of his house so I slept in the back my car. I rolled down the windows so my feet were sticking out. They left for work the next morning and saw me passed out in the back seat. They just kind of laughed and made fun of me. Very embarassing. lol

Hi Eric, I spent many years of my life sleeping in a hospital (I am a doctor with 2 specialties) so I could tell you that I slept in practically any furniture or space… chairs, desks, armchairs where patients received treatment, stretchers and even in the floor (sometimes we shared the same furniture up to 2 people) however I must describe that crappiest place was the room of the residents (although you do not believe it) and I say this for the following anecdote that although for me it was terrible, to many it seemed funny.
After an exhausting guard I decided to rest even if it was 1 hour before I started the morning round on the patients' rooms (more or less as from 5 to 6 AM). The residents' room was disgusting because many had gone to rest there and in fact when I arrived they were already getting up (for those who do not know one lies down fully dressed in the medical uniform with which we have attended patients, done procedures, etc.). I slept one hour and I continued working all day (I could not go home at noon as usual when you have been on duty), and I stayed in the hospital until about 5 PM.
At that time I returned home (I lived far from the hospital) so I arrived about 7 PM and I admit I went to bed without bathing (I was exhausted, I could not even think). The next day I bathed and went to work. The terrible and funny part at the same time begins a few days later, when I start to feel an unbearable itch in the body, ¡I had scabies! I was dying of shame because it is a disease associated with lack of hygiene, probably acquired from that time I slept in that dirty bed (who knows how many had already slept 1 hour before me) and the 48 hours I spent without bathing, In short, I fulfilled my treatment with lotion and I healed, but it will be an experience I will never forget.

Oh.. Well, this might not be funny, but I've slept in the subway.
Me and some friends celebrated "midsommarafton" here in Sweden. (Midsummer Eve).
It basically looks like this:
As I live in another town, I travelled there by train. We partied and celebrated and the idea was that I should sleep there. However, out of nowhere, my friend got a "booty call" and went to that chicks place and I stood there, in the middle of the night without a place to stay.
I went to the subway, because it's right to the Central Station but the Central Station was closed and I had to wait for about 5 hours. Drunk as hell, without options I sat down on the floor right next to the doors.
~5 hours later, I woke up because someone kicked me in the face and told me "Hey, they've opened!" - I was able to catch a train a few hours after that.

What a fun post and responses! :)
So I was on a long bike tour, it was getting late. I knew that there is a small town on the top of a hill and maybe there are hostels/hotel in there. I wasn't sure about it. Also it was starting to rain. No good. So as I approached the hill, at the bottom I saw a McDonalds. And when I see a McDonalds......I go in for free wifi :))) So I did, I researched my options, there was a train station - if I start now and really pedal, maybe I can get to the next town... Nah, I'm tired. So maybe if I just push a little harder and go up the hill. Nah, it's late, already 10 o'clock. So I actually stayed until it closed at midnight. I got my stuff, pedaled away - maybe at the train station there is a little house or something (it was in France). Well, there was nothing. So I went back to the McDonalds and as it was a sheltered place - I ended up sleeping in the kids playground, inside the slide :)))
It was great, even my bike was under cover - so was I, undercover, haha. And the best part was - they didn't turn off the wifi, so I was using my laptop, laying down in my sleeping bag. I went to sleep listening to the soothing sound of the rain on the top of my house - the tube :)))
I set my alarm a bit before the opening times - and I casually went in for breakfast in the morning. :)))))

On december 31st, 2016, I with my friends went to camp at the Goh Leumo Mountain. Banda Aceh city could be seen from the top of the mountain, people usually would celebrate the new year's eve and we hoped that we could see fireworks up there. We were so eager on the journey. In the end, not only we couldn't see fireworks, we didn't even reach the top. It didn't go well, we were lost in the middle of jungle and it was getting dark. It was impossible to continue, so we stopped at a place that we thought okay for a rest. We slept early at that time because we were exhausting ourself to find a path to the top. In the morning, we woke up and realized that we slept under a big tree at the mountain side, if we moved carelessly when we slept, it'll be the end of us falling down to the abyss hahaha.

The funniest and crappiest place I’ve slept was on top of a wardrobe. It was a wardrobe that wS built into the house at the end of the hallway. It was an old house with a high ceiling but the top of the wardrobe didn’t go all the way to the ceiling. Their was about 18inches of space between the top of the wardrobe and the ceiling and as it was a deep wardrobe there was enough room to put a double bed mattress on top. It was my friends place. 2 of my friends lived there but I visited everyday and usually ended up cooking dinner for them as they weren’t good cooks. Eventually due to all the time there, I just moved in - on top of the wardrobe as there was no spare bed. So I put a mattress up there and every night I would climb up the door and go to sleep and in the morning I would climb back down. As we were teenagers there was a lot of drinking going on so there was a couple of times that I fell off or banged my head on the ceiling but I actually enjoyed sleeping up there. It was nice and warm up by the ceiling. I also tried to sleep under a bridge in the middle of nowhere one night as my car broke down so I started hitch hiking but didn’t get picked up but that’s another story.

Well your post made me remember my time in Cambridge. I was part of an exhibition there and after the opening we got hammered to the point of floating over the granite-paved roads of the city. I promised to a friend of mine to take him to the train station, as he was not going to stay in the city for the night and I had to move my stuff to another place for the night, so we packed and went to the station fully loaded on both ends. As we were waiting on his train, he told me an artist I loved was exhibiting in Tate Modern in London, and I got so pumped about it I bought a ticket for the last train to London at I think 00:30, arrived there maybe at around 2:00 in the morning spent another two hours walking the streets and drinking beer with a couple of guys in random bars, until I got the reality that I have no idea where I am or where to sleep. So long story short, found a nice bridge over the Tames, climbed about 10m high onto the platform (easily accessible even while being intoxicated, which was amazingly sized like a kingsized bed, got all my clothes out of my backpack and made a nest, drank my last beer and fell asleep. It was November and quite windy. But the view was 5 stars.

Hahaha! This is funny @anomadsoul. I wanna join the contest. I was in Tacloban City in Leyte, Philippines and had to stay in a backpackers hostel or backpackers dorm. It's basically like a big room with bunk beds with curtain dividers. We were like 40 people in that room and it's fully booked. AC and fans are okay, it wasn't warm or anything. It only costed me 135 Philippines Peso which is like 2.66 USD for a night. No toiletries or towel. They just give you a pillow and a blanket, that's all.
What's funny is, as I was about to sleep, I thought I heard someone fart and I was stopping myself from giggling. I was trying to dose off and some guy just came in and got into the upper bunk and I thought I smelled his feet. That gave me a weird feeling but nevertheless it was fun. I think I still have a picture of it here. I should blog about it, too.

What a funny request!
I cannot answer for me but for my brother (for I myself am a sleeping terrorist, so I never had the guts to choose a crappy place. Call me princess on the pea).
It was on my 30st birthday party. Like a REAL party with many friends from within but also out of town and part of my family. Back then we were so relaxed that we offered the hallway wall to our visitors to feel free to paint something on it. Almost everyone did and had fun with it. Also my birthday party was announced under a theme: To wear a wig. No wig, no entry.
Guests had a blast - After the level of pleasure had reached a certain quality, everyone started to swap their wigs and in my photo album (printed pictures in a paper book!) I followed the trail of a good friend who was in the evening alternately a blonde, brunette, red and black haired and even green. You can see him in all kinds of dance positions and gestures.
The party became wild and unbridled and my brother, who wanted to go to bed at some point, went looking for an untouched place. It didn't work that night. In one room some people felt their way through the bed, in another room people were philosophising loudly, dancing was still in high performance in the living room. Even some strangers found their way into our home, cause the door stood open and joined the dance.
Finally my brother - a little desperate at that time - reached the study, where he lay down on our night storage heater (a certain type of heating that gets very hot at night) and put a shoe (!) under his head as a pillow. There he spent the night.
LOL. I thought I must tell the whole story. Otherwise it would have been somehow out of context.
