Watch your Step

Yesterday, I was called to be a person who gives his expert opinion. It was a manufactured house that had a pipe break underneath it, and the moisture bubbled the floor. The problem is the floor became weak, and when the home owner weighs 250 plus it spells disaster. I was not doing the work, they just wanted me to provide a work scope, and this is what it looked like. 20180801_144456.jpg While we were their the homeowner kept walking back and forth over the damaged area, until you see the hole on the right. Yep until he fell throw the floor. I smirked, but afterwards laughed pretty hard, when we found out he was okay. He even said he was pretty surprised he had not fallen through yet.

Wow, he is lucky it was just his foot that went through and wasn't a bigger hole. Could have been a nasty fall. I bet you laughed your ass off afterwards. Would have been hilarious.

Ya look like he racked his privates on the floor.

That's pretty scary. I've been in a few houses where the floor didn't feel structurally sound and it's not a good feeling to think that you might fall through. I feel bad for the guy. Hopefully you were able to get them a price that's actually in the ballpark of what insurance will pay. That would suck to have a house with no floor.

Ya the other contractor there was pretty shady, I mentioned that the wall was not on a joist so don't cut it out till it was supported. They did not listen and the wall came down too. Idiots.

Wow, that's pretty bad! How could they not know the wall wasn't supported? Why would they start cutting before confirming? Hopefully they were licensed, bonded, and insured.

Good funny house
