--> Kids + Unlocked Car = Disastrous <--

This video comes all the way from India (probably some South Indian state) and clearly shows why it is unsafe to leave your car unlocked even if its parked safely inside your home!

The 73 second video shows a young boy, around 10-12 year old, walking to the driver side door of this MPV (Chevrolet Tavera). He stays there for a few seconds as he enjoys a snack (I think he was sucking on a mango!) before opening the door and climbing onto the driver's seat.

And he gets into the driver's seat!

He enjoys the steering for a while before either shifting to neutral or letting go of the hand brake. The rest is history - as you can see. Thankfully, he manages to escape out unharmed even as the door gets stuck between the pillar and the car.

The Great Escape - and he jumps to safety!

The MPV rolls down the entrance onto the main road - it was luck that there was no traffic on the road else the ending would have been disastrous!

Granny watches in horror as the family MPV drives itself out!

I am sure the little kid got a good beating from his father after this episode - but its also a learning for all of us!

You never know what kids are upto these days and what they can do to a harmful car parked in your drive way. So always remember to lock it properly.

Holy smokes! That's why kids should know basics of driving a car.

True!

So important to keep your car locked and store the keys out of reach for the kids.

These guys should have put up a speed hump on that ramp, that could have saved the car from rolling further down.

True and well said
