More political ball meme

I'm sure articles (propaganda) you have read say all kinds of things. Let's see what happens when a Republican pharma-shill gets into it with a Canadian doctor.

A public healthcare system is more efficient than a private system. This is a statistically proven fact.

When has there ever been a completely private system? The article I read was in the NY times because I was looking for something main stream to prove a point to a friend.

I know what you're getting at. Here's why it is impossible to ever know. Hospitals are not allowed to turn people away. Take a moment to really think about that. If someone is having a medical emergency, it is against the law for the hospital to refuse treatment.
Socialized medicine is here, and there is no getting rid of it. That means the best thing that we can do is manage it intelligently and efficiently. To do that, we need to learn from the successes and failures of other countries.
We are sinking 15% of our GDP into health care costs. Countries with a single payer system are spending about 7%. Imagine the economic impact of that extra 8% of our GDP in the hands of the millions of Americans currently struggling with medical debt.

A free market would drive prices down and insurance would still be a thing but probably even cheaper with better/ more options.

There is literally no evidence to support that claim. Insurance companies are parasites that drive up costs for everyone, and give us nothing in return. Much like banks, they are money-grubbing middle-men that will eventually be cut out of the loop by progress and technology. A single payer system would make health insurance as we know it nearly obsolete, and that is a good thing.

I don't understand how you see this and still think the government should be in control of it or anything for that matter. Our government is extremely corrupt and you cant blame only one party both are involved. At the very least let the private sector compete with government and see what happens really not risking anything unless your a private investor. Don't count on congress or any other government official to start doing their jobs. Hell why would they, they aren't ever held accountable for anything. With privatization people can and will be held accountable for things.

We currently have the most privatized medical industry of any country in the developed world, and accountability is for shit. I don't want my healthcare provider's primary motivation to be making money off of me, I want them to save my fucking life!
You can't judge the entire federal government over a bad experience you once had at the DMV. Corruption is far more common in the private sector, especially where there is less regulation. You want to find corruption in the private sector, all you have to do is check on what has been de-regulated recently.
While there is corruption in the public sector, it is far more common among Republicans. When you look at who they take campaign contributions from, and how much money changes hands, it's exponentially worse with Republicans.
The public sector is accountable to everyone, not just CEOs and shareholders. That makes a big difference. Corporations are controlled by money. A democratic government is controlled by votes.

Deregulation Is a good thing I mean that's why we have craft beers and designer top notch weeds. Also to further prove my point about free market kicking ass look at initiative 71 in DC and how the legal black market killed dispensaries and drove prices way down.

I lived in Germany for over 2 years. They have the most heavily regulated beer market on Earth.

It was the best fucking beer I have ever drank in my life!
I currently live in Oregon. Before legalization, I sometimes ended up with weed that had pesticides and mold. After legalization and regulation, I can buy a vape cartridge of 83% pure THC.
