For many, they probably wonder what it is like to live somewhere exotic like Vietnam. I know that before I came here I didn't really know what to expect. Well, the other day I discovered a children's book that explains it all to people in very easy to understand language complete with pictures!
Since it was wrapped in plastic I couldn't get a good look at the information but since it comes complete with sound effects so that your child can annoy everyone around them while they play with it in public, it will actually do a better job of properly recreating what it is actually like to live in Vietnam. I think if your child wanted to do a very good job of recreating the atmosphere of this wonderful country, they should probably just select one button that does the sound effects and then hit that one over and over again hundreds of times in a row over the course of the entire day. A good place to start would probably be the excavator on the far left and then maybe once the batteries have died and been replaced, you could switch over to the saw.
While not 100% accurate, this would be a good place to start. What they really need is a rotary hammer or cement drill. That's at least 5 hours a day of entertainment for your child and it will prepare them for what life is like here in Vietnam. The 2.0 model of this book should probably also include tools that are actually very inefficient at the job and are completely inappropriate and unnecessary for the job at hand such as using a rotary saw to cut tiles instead of a silent tile cutter that was specifically designed for that job.

If you want to be seriously accurate with this book you also need to start hitting the buttons at 6am with zero regard to the impact it has on anyone nearby. You can increase the realism of the experience by having someone tell them that they have to stop hitting the buttons at 5pm but then continue until 9pm anyway. Or your child could simply pay off some official and then they can hit the buttons nearly 24 hours a day!
I'm really happy that Priddy Books has this available for sale so that any expat that is preparing to move to Vietnam can properly prepare themselves for what it is going to be like once they arrive!
