absolutely. if it's a grave exploit, just tell the community about it. I'm sure you get at least $4k out.

I guess the hacker was only able to get like $10k out, which is absolutely not worth it in terms of risk

They could have milked this...

  • rewards for a post on this hack/ exploit $$$$
  • bounty for a fix on github $$$$
  • #introduceyourself post as the 'white hat hacker' $$$$
  • rewards for posts on hacking and internet security $$$$$
  • consultancy work for Steemit/ similar websites $$$$$

He/ she should have come to me for career advice!

versus being hunted by fbi and whatnot for 10k USD.

Hackers dont think in the futer i think he was overwelmed that he got acces in the first place!

Sometimes the reason is not money but just intention to destroy a system they don't like. Some men just want to see the world burn...

There isn't too much risk if you are not playing it dumb. Still an idiotic move.

Hackers...it is hard to understand why they do so...but they do it whit The DAO too... and now it is hard to trust them...
Maybe they are trying to do the same with Steem

lol

Thats why we have to promote our build-in into Steem Bug Bounty Program -

They obviously didn't care about making it the honest way.

hahahaaa , good one !!!

Haha, you got it wrong... Yesterday steemit was attacked by a hacker. The platform reported it to the FBI and they are after him.

Edit: Here is the link to the original article

hahaha yea it's true

Why do I think the FBI would care less about any crypto hack?

Haha. for real though..

LOL!
