Oh yes, humans are capable of committing horrendous acts of injustice and violence against each other and against other animals. Not to mention destroying the very ecosystem that we all depend on for survival. So I'm not excusing our species in any way. I just don't think we should romanticise other species either. As Darwin said, the difference between humans and other animals is "one of degree and not of kind".

Agree with you. Animal world romanticizing is a relatively new trend arising from our distancing from nature in last couple of centuries.
