I say If you like a post you should upvote it if not don't. I don't think anyone should be upvoting anything because they think they "owe" a vote. That makes upvotes meaningless outside of the monetary reward and I feel this cheapens the site as a whole.

Downvoting a post can decrease pending rewards and make it less visible. Common reasons:

  • Disagreement on rewards
  • Fraud or plagiarism
  • Hate speech or trolling
  • Miscategorized content or spam
