Men and women

A man's opinion

Men and women
sometimes, they do not understand each other
women have the tendency to control
they forget that they are just playing the role
women are possessed with dates
a man forgets it and he is in for a spate
she likes to comb
and she likes her clothes
why does she need a handbag at all?
leave alone a hundred and twenty colors at that
A woman may ask for a man's opinion
but it is just to prove that it is not half as good as hers
A loud-mouthed lady
is not liked at all
by a man worth his salt
A man likes a woman who lets him watch the games
and does not expect him to talk
or listen to endless tales that she has to say

A woman's opinion

A girl grows up reading romantic novels
after matrimony finds that real life is not like that
The man expects her to change
and like his every habit
and live accordingly like that
she expects romance
but gets a dose of practicality
and then he goes on his business
just like that
A woman likes her things
and her handbag is full of treasure
a man would never understand that
clothes define her personality
but then would a man ever realize that?

To a woman, appearance matters more
to a man, food is more appealing
differences are there
but the world needs both
to beget more scoundrels
and that defines a society

just a small attempt at comedy

I write poems to express myself. I started writing at the age of twelve or so and some of my poems were published in magazines for children, a time when print still ruled the world. The internet and the blogging world has helped me write poems. Most of it was as I wrote earlier, to express myself and my thoughts. I have also been a ghostwriter.

Steemit has helped me write with freedom and also earned me very good friends who encourage me to write. I hope my readers will support me and also join in this contest. I am not a student of literature and so I do not consider myself an expert in poetry. It is the judge who will decide.
