Does Zinc Help to Boost Your Testosterone?

in funny •  7 years ago

If you're a dude, and you plan on getting older, this 3 month self-experiment may serve as a guide for staying healthy and strong 💪 when you enter your 40's, and keeping your testosterone levels as high as they were when you were in your twenties (hopefully!)

The next blood test measurement of my testosterone levels are coming the 3rd week of June, and this whole experience and experiment is being shared honestly and completely, exclusively here, on Steemit.

ZINC!

Zinc is one of the components in the supplement I'm taking that was discussed yesterday.

There's a price guessing contest detailed in yesterday's post (think "The Price is Right" gameshow) where you try to guess the price of a one month supply in the comment section.

The 5 Steemians who guess the closest to the actual cost get their comment 100% upvoted, have a look and take a chance 😀

SO, WILL Zinc

Help Testosterone?!?

Absolutely, unequivocally, 100%, YES!

One study, from over 20 years ago, examined young males with healthy levels of testosterone.

They took these strapping young men and over a 5 month period they avoided Zinc in their diet.

The result?

These guys saw a 50% DROP in their testosterone levels 😱 😳

Just HOW this study made it past the Institutional Review Board is beyond me.

The same study took older men with low testosterone and gave them a daily zinc supplement over the same 5 months.

The result in the older dudes was an increase in their testosterone, to the tune of DOUBLING it!

Zinc is a super important mineral that men and women need to have sufficient quantities of in their diet.

Foods rich in zinc:
(Remember here that animal-based foods are richer in zinc than the plant-based foods)

  • Oysters
  • Beef
  • Lamb
  • Chicken
  • Pork

For the herbivores out there, Zinc is found in:

  • Squash seeds
  • Pumpkin seeds
  • Spinach
  • Nuts
  • Dark chocolate
  • Wheat germ
  • Mushrooms
  • Beans

Upon review of both lists, I don't see "Fast Food," "Candy," "Chips," "Beer," or "Diet Coke."

🤔

If you're a normal person, you may be deficient in zinc. If you're a dude in your 40's, like me, I can guarantee you the Taco Bell I was eating, on the regular, 6 months ago was NOT providing the recommended daily allowance of Zinc.

If you are deficient in zinc, and you bring your zinc intake to adequate levels for maximal health,
studies demonstrate you WILL see an increase in your testosterone.

Up to normal, optimal production levels; assuming you were deficient in zinc beforehand.

How much should you take if you're a fella in his 40's?

Between 9 and 11 mg per day are the recommended ranges I've seen for maintaining healthy zinc levels.

The supplement I'm taking contains 30 mg:

Check with your doctor before doing anything different with your diet or supplements, because I'm not a dietitian.

I'm trying all these testosterone enhancing measures after I agreed not to sue myself if I hurt me in the process.

Be smart, and be safe.
Consult your physician.

I feel amazing after following these protocols for just one month!
Two months to go to tighten up the diet routine and gym time, and we'll see where my testosterone levels are in June!

Thank you for reading! 😀

Zinc. In addition to a healthy diet, zinc is shown to increase testosterone levels, especially in males that are deficient in the mineral. Vitamin B6 and magnesium also to aid in zinc absorption and the converting of free cholesterol to testosterone, which will be mentioned later with the supplement ZMA.

I do not know want to say how much the price of this food, because the price is different with Indonesia if Indonesia about 2 dollars more.

To the question in your title, my Magic 8-Ball says:

Your crazy ahahahahahaha @scan0017 ❤️

Ah, good stuff. I used to take a whole 30 mg tablet and it did make me amped up to the point I would snap on people at work for minor annoyances. No wonder, I guess that was too much. :D
I'll try doing 1/3 of this for a week and see how it goes. Thanks for the highly useful info on this topic.

great post sir...i will waiting for the next

I had my complete tests done few months ago. Fortunately everything was within limits except vitamin D3, which was too low. I’m taking supplements now, because D3 is crucial for your organism to fight cancerous cells. I will check your contest now.

very good post and thanks for sharing these tips that are very healthy

Great post
thanks for sharing

You remind me of my mother and her pharmacy at home. I remember my dad saying that she was obsessed with his health. I took zinc, iron, omega, vitamins. It was a traveling pharmacy.

Great health tip @scan0017.
I love learning about health and didn't know much about zinc, so this was very helpful.

Cool, I have been on a mission to boost my testosterone as well!

Been taking dhea 2x a day and 7keto dhea in the afternoon. I also take 600mg of Ornithine, 300mg of glucosamine, 1200mg AAKG, and 1200mg of Lysine before bed on an empty stomach with 3mg of melatonin 3x a week

On top of that I also craft my own Onnit alpha brain which may or not boost testosterone.(Alpha GPC, Bacopa, phosphitidelsterine, huprizene-a, pterstoblin, l-luciene, l-theanine, cats claw, l-tyrosene, and vincopotene (butchered spelling on most of these I am sure))

I buy everything in bulk powders usually on eBay, it's amazing how much you can save if you go for a year supply

I've tried tribulus before; that stuff gives me terrible headaches

Thinking about trying D-aspartic Acid and Zinc now after reading your articles.

Looking forward to the lab results!

Spike that T!
