I saw that 688 followers AND july 2016 is the real hint! ou earned alot of early steemit users who may have been just minnows but who got to earn alot of free steem in the beginning! well maybe not because steem was up to $4 fast, WELl still, that new steem is mined and gven out everyday an if you post everyday it adds up!
steem is the equivalent of bitcoin miners who mined bitcoin on existing machines they already had, only kept what they needed to pay for overhead, electricity, new hardware, and just gave out the bitcoins to their own subreddit, rewarding tho with the most upvotes with the most bitcoi
thats basicallly what steemit is!
one day it will become too difficult to mine new steem, especially when some steemit users figure out they can start mining steem using their own witness nodes, as a way to earn even more steempower,
the fact that steem is just going to explode in popularity means we will eventually experience what may feel like diminishing returns..
or maybe steemit will just begin selling ads its like an emergency backup plan to use ads! lol
