Is Tennessee Whiskey really as smooth as the song says? Let's find out.

in funny •  7 years ago

@mrwang @lilwallay and @xtrodinarypilot were hanging out last night and @mrwang brought over some Jack Daniels. Jack is Tennessee Whiskey and there is a love song dedicated to the smoothness of Tennessee Whiskey. Tennessee Whiskey was originally written and performed by David Allen Coe, made popular by George Jones, and remade in this generation by Chris Stapleton. Lovely song, now let's see if the whiskey passes the smooth test.

Jack Daniels: Well, at least it's alcohol!

Jeremiah Weed might be better. Jim Beam isn't.

I'm a gin guy. as can bee seen in my Country Boy Oyster Shuckin post lol

"Jim Beam isn't." = BLASPHAMY!!! LOL
Beam has a much fruiter taste and is awesome with Mt Dew!!!

OOO man.. still recovering from the little we drank lol.. I gotta review the footage for your post

OOO SNAPS.. you took a shot earlier today?

HAHAHA

yep barely lol, not to mention the rain helped me sleep in

That thare's alkee-hall abuse!

Now, I admit that Jack and I haven't talked in while but I've got a bit of Jim in my freezer. I may have to show you how it's done.

I have ALWAYS preferred Mr Beam. Some Jim white label with some diet Mt Dew is magical.

HAHA! Another soul who says Mr. Beam! Love it. :D
I haven't tried it with diet Mt. Dew . This may need to be remedied! I usually drink it mixed with Diet Coke as my summer beverage of choice.

Oh yeah to me it always seems to have a fruity note, and the Dew brings that out with just a bit a lemon juice....YUM!!!
I really like the Beam Black label!
Here is an old vid of me taste testing the Beam Black against the Devils Cut if you want to see me drink it properly!!!

I literally drink all of my liquors straight up or with water.

What if I told you that no alcohol was wasted in the making of that video?

I'd be much relieved. LOL
Of course, yesterday was April Fool's... now I'm wondering what was in the shot glass. ;)

i'll leave you with suspense

I figured as much!

Isn't Tenessee Whiskey the same as Bourbon?

Tennessee Whiskey would be the same as Kentucky Bourbon but most Tennessee Whiskey is filterd through sugar maple and charcoal. That gives it a sweeter after taste than Kentucky Bourbon. If a Tenn Whiskey is not filtered through sugar maple charcoal during post distillation, then it acutually qualifies as a bourbon. If I misspelled or used shitty grammae I ts is becauee I have 8 hours of ALKEY HALL in my system.

Very interesting. Thank you for all that details. At the end it seems that I would prefer Tennesee Whiskey because of that sweeter tast.

OMG!!!
Now I think I need to do a post LOL

Let's see it

I did a video salute for you and @merej99. Don't worry I didn't put your name in it so you wont be associated with an old guy lol. But it is rendering and then I got to upload it, so I will have the post ready for tomorrow!

LOL. You can always use my name. I'm like Trump, any publicity is good publicity.
