DOG MEAT!! What hope do my dog BEI have? Please read

Hello Friends! hope your day is cool?
I came across some group of people in my area, catching a dog and killing it, and the joy on their faces is as if they have won 50 million SP, because they want to eat the dog. This made me really scared about BEI my dog, they have even started eyeing him OMG!!. Why do people like dog meat and when did this practice start?

Dog meat is the flesh and other consumable parts obtained from dogs. Historically, human-eating of dog meat has been documented in many parts of the world. In the 21st century, dog meat is eaten in China, Nigeria, South Korea, Vietnam, and Switzerland, and it is eaten or is permitted to be eaten in other countries throughout the world. Some cultures view the eating of dog meat as part of their ritualistic, traditional, or day to day menu, while other cultures consider the consumption of dog meat a taboo, even anywhere it had been eaten in the past. Views also vary drastically across diverse regions within different countries. It was calculated that in 2014 worldwide, 25 million dogs are consumed each year by humans.

The Irish and Brittonic manuscripts which date back to the early Christian period imply that dog meat was sometimes eaten but possibly in ritual settings such as Druidic ritual trance. Sacrificing dog bones are often obtained from archaeological sites. They were typically treated separately, as were horses, from other food animals. Cuchulainn and Ireland's mythological warrior had two vows, and one of which was to avoid dog meat. The breaking of his vows led to his death in Irish mythology. Dog meat has been eaten regularly in the past by the Gauls. And the proof of dog consumption was found at Gaulish archaeological sites, where the butchered dog bones were discovered.

In the year 2011 it was published that, due to high prices on other types of meat, the eating of dog meat is common notwithstanding a longstanding taboo.

Ghana

The Akyims, the Tallensi, the Yaakuma, and the Kokis, are some of several cultures of Ghana, regard dog meat as a delicacy. The Mamprusi commonly avoid dog meat, and it is eaten in a "courtship stew" presented by a king to his royal lineage. There are two Tribes in Ghana, Frafra and Dagaaba that are particularly known to be "tribal playmates" and eating dog meat is the natural bond between the two tribes. Each year around September, games are organized within these two tribes and the Dog Head is the award at stake for the winning tribe.
It was reported in the year 2017 that the increasing need for dog meat "due to the belief it gives more energy" has driven politician Anthony Karbo to propose dog meat factories in the three northern regions of Ghana.

Nigeria

Dog meat is eaten by numerous groups in some states of Nigeria, and this includes Calaba, Taraba, Ondo State, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Plateau, and Gombe of Nigeria. They are deemed to have medicinal powers. But late 2014, the fear of catching the Ebola virus disease from bushmeat led at least one important Nigerian newspaper to suggest that eating dog meat was a healthy alternative. This paper also documented a flourishing trade in dog meat and sluggish sales of even well-smoked bushmeat.
