The Pro Futsal Centre will come alive one final time this season in perhaps the most important game in WA Futsal, the promotion final.

TWO TEAMS, ONE DREAM.

Both teams are coming into tomorrow night's final with form on their side, Perth Aquile defeating South Perth 3-2 a fortnight ago to book their spot, while Longobarda, surprised many with a 5-1 win over Rockingham Bucks before backing up the next day with a 8-1 thumping of South Perth, in what will go down as one of the most baffling results in modern Championship History.

These sides have met on three occasions this season, the first being a 7-1 win to Aquile in October last year. Longobarda responded with a 3-2 win in December, in a heated contest that saw Longo's Jon Bucolo receive a three match ban for kicking Aquile's Jamie Robertson on the bench over an unknown war of words between the two. Longo held Aquile again in February this year 6-5, in the most recent showdown between the two.

While the above is old news now, form coming into a final often means little, while hunger can mean a whole lot. These two teams have played each other three times this season, in mostly close contests and know each other well. Both have taken out league winners South Perth on their way here, and both will feel they deserve their shot at the SFL next season.

Aquile are blessed with talent, headed by the old fox Sirash Sasikumar who has be employed to lead Aquile to SFL glory. Outside of that, the big Englishman James Oldroyd should have plenty to offer in the goal department, as well as Dorian Mardi and the slippery Jamal Yusof whose pace could be used as a big advantage. For Longobarda, they won their two playoff legs 13-2 on aggregate, with some great goalkeeping from Francesca Capra, while former Serie C player Remo Capitani and Slovenian Jan Cok have done early damage up front in the playoffs.

The younger Perth Aquile will be slight favorites on paper after finishing the season ahead of Longobarda, but it is the veteran Italians who have tried to time their run to perfection, to make this a genuine 50/50 contest. It may come down to a moment of inspiration from just one or two players, to send their side to the promised land.
