You don't need a degree to land a coding job if you have the skills, Colleges are over priced and spend more time focused on academia than the actual skills and tech companies know it!
I started my children on "Scratch" coding at 8 years old, by the time they are 18 they will be write the apps that we use to be efficient in our lives, I suggest you do the same.
