Great post. I often get confused when people talk about "post scarcity" without realizing the massive gap between various ambitions and desires of the human species. Those gaps will always exist, but, as you said, we can move everyone up. I like to think about this in terms of Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs. If we pull those at the top down to bring those at the bottom up, we all lose. It's those at the top who understand self actualization that are doing the most to improve the world.

Energy is the key.

My biggest concern is that we each understand where our morality comes from before we unlock and commoditize advanced technologies which could harm us all.
