When I was 10 years old I liked to read the Guinness book of records. There I could find the latest accomplishments in the technology and one day I saw first time a tv-phone. I wanted that tv-phone so badly. That was 15 years ago. Now we have supercomputers in our pocket that can do so much more than just watch TV.
10 years is a long time and is very hard to predict...
To give you some perspective:
- Space X was founded 15 years ago.
- Tesla & Facebook was founded 14 years ago
- YouTube, Twitter & Reddit was founded 12 years ago.
- The Playstation 3 launched 12 years ago.
- Spotify was founded 12 years ago.
- The first iPhone was launched 10 years ago.
- The 2007-2008 financial crisis happened 10 years ago.
- Bitcoin was created almost 9 years ago.
- Instagram was founded 8 years ago.
(Here is a website that shows for example what the YouTube looked like 10 years ago just to get some clue: http://tenyearsago.io)
Me and my brother played playstation all day long. Our mother didn't like that of course and told us to go play outside.
If someone told my mom in 2000 that in 10 years you could earn a living by playing video games she would thought you must be crazy person.
I also watched a lot of movies when I was younger. My favourite movie series of all time were and still are back to the future I-III. It has influenced me more than anything else. I play guitar and skate because of Marty McFly. Terminator 2 is one of my favourites too. That movie might become someday reality. Have you heard about company called Boston dynamics? Well let me show you:
Imagine these robots making back flips and killing humans?
At the moment I am reading the George Orwell's book "1984" and it is scary how the world is starting to resemble the books utopia. This recording from 1945 was scary accurate about:
I don't know how legit it is, but it gives me chills...
I remember how they told in x-files back in 1990 that your phone is "listening" you conversation and people thought it was just a conspiracy. Now it is reality. This clip sums up how absurd this is:
It is crazy how fast all happened.
Here some CEOs attempt to predict the future:
Is it so that the better you can predict the future the more wealthy you are? What do you think? Just a thought.
Clip from 1994 where Bill Gates talks about the internet:
It took about 20 years when "information superhighway" aka the internet started to really change the world. The blockchain was invented 10 years ago so how will it develop in next 10 years is really interesting to see. It is hard to imagine the world without the internet. Maybe in 10 years blockchain will be as obvious as internet is now.
In this 2003 TED talk Jeff Bezos compares the Dotcom bust to electric industry:
It could be that the bitcoin and blockchain is experiencing the "gold rush" at the moment.
I watched this clip 4 years ago and it opened my eyes:
We are in the middle of revolution.
I try my best to predict the future in 10 years but I will most likely fail...
2028 Prediction:
Economy will start to heal but people no more trust the traditional banking system because of the next market crash that occure in the near future (maybe during the next 2-8 year) and cryptocurrencies will rise on a whole new level. Blockchain start to disrupt banks like the internet does to traditional industries such as tv, entertainment, commerce etc. at the moment.
The concept about the "phone" will change. We will control this "phone" with our voice and maybe even with our mind. People will stare at the actual phone much less and use more voice control instead. We will use personal assistant AI like in the Iron Man movie. The "phone" will become a new passport.
Automatisation will start to replace simple jobs such as taxi, trucking, trains, busses, delivery service. Supermarkets will become automated. Self driving cars will be common. First autonomous planes will start to fly. Military start to use the backflip assassin robots. Drone delivery will be common. Counter culture against robots "Rage against the machine" will
rise. Basically pre- 1984, Terminator & Matrix utopia era will begin.
Music will become more and more personal. Songs will adopt to persons mood. Entertainment will be much more niche, specific and personal. The real life Truman show will start. E sports will be as popular as football. Virtual reality will hit new level and become very popular.
Every new manufactured car will be electric. The fossil fuel cars will become marginal. First fusion power station will start to generate electricity. Tesla will dominate the battery & car industry. Human steps first time on the mars. Farming will become much more automated and efficient.
Climate change will start to really impact our behaviour. Humans will consume much less meat and begin to consume insects instead. The water will be scarce. People will run away draught.
So as I said before I am most likely very wrong. What do you think? Is this possible? Or totally crazy?
I think that steemit has a lot of potential and I am very lucky to found this community so early. We are the ones who creates the future and make this platform awesome!
I leave you with this quote that made me think:
"The best way to predict the future is to create it" - Abraham Lincoln
Thank you steemians!
Great, I just used 20 minutes to watch some of those videos and I still have to write one 6-page essay today. A very interesting post!

We loved the Guinness Book of Records when we were kids in the 70 s. It was mainly books that were our entertainment then.

In addition: interstellar space travel by space jump (forget missiles!), communication above the speed of life (experiments are already in progress), transhumanism - built-in gadgets in human body, etc. We build the future and have many alternatives.
