A positive thought on artificial intelligence

Hello to all steemit users out there,

this is my first published thing ever, on steemit and on any other homepage. I am not a native english speaker and I am not experienced in writing, that will explain many mistakes or wrongly used words :).

Many people are afraid of artificial intelligence, because they think the AI could get powerful and turn agains us. This would lead to a war which could wipe out the whole human race.
That is why I want to share a thought of mine with you. It's about the human future in space.

I believe that it is possible that in some years we will be able to travel to and live on near planets, like mars.
Looking at the known planets near to us, none of them looks human friendly. I am sure, that there are other planets out there in space, on which we could settle when our earth reaches her end of life.
Until now, we haven't found a planet like the earth, so the earth like planets have to be very very far away from our solar system.

So, whats the best way for humans to expand in space?
One could be many space ships, with humans on them, living for generations always on the search for our new planet. Another one, and that's the essence of my thought, could be many little space ships controlled by AI, containing human DNA. Thousands of those ships could be sent in all directions, with the order to find a new planet for mankind.
Maybe our technology will lead us to a point, where the AI will be able to change parts of our DNA. That would make it possible for the AI to "create" human life forms adapted to our new home planet. The AI could raise and protect us, until the population would be big enough, so survive on it's own. A next step in our evolution.

The AI could even recreate human life, after the last human had died.

I'm not a scientist or physician, maybe this is total nonsense. I just wanted to share this thought with you. I'm curios about your opinion and would be happy about a discussion.

It'll take me maybe some days to answer your comments, because I'm going on a vacation, but I'll try to answer them asap.
