Let's start with the latest in this case, then we will go back.

What has happened in Spread Creek recently?
According to the recent news, human remains have been detected in Spread Creek location, which is in ‘Bridger-Teton National Forest.’ It is a remote and alpine landscape with a mesmerizing nurture view that includes sprawling mountains, glimmering lakes, above 200miles of trails. In the previous month, a missing complaint was launched for Gabrielle Petito, who is on her camping trip with her boyfriend.

Where Is Spread Creek Dispersed Camping- What happened to Gabrielle?
As per the reported news, during the investigation, Jim Schmidt, Gabrielle’s stepfather, mentioned that he and her mother were last contacted with Gabrielle via facetime call, dated on 23th or 24th August. On that call, they were notified that Gabrielle and Brian Laundrie, her fiance, had left Utah, the United States, and they were on the way to ‘Bridger-Teton National Forest.’

However, Gabrielle seemed to be missing in her camping trip journey, and a thorough investigation was started by the FBI. After that, people are searching for ‘Where Is Spread Creek Dispersed Camping.’ Based on a recent update, human remains had been found in the area of the ‘eastern boundary’ of Bridger Teton-National Forest in Wyoming. As per the FBI officials’ statement, this human corpse was believed to belong to Gabrielle, who was found to go on her trip with Brian Laundrie as per her parents.

The Spread Creek forest is famous for wild, adventurous camping tours. But, currently, the spot is closed for the public tour until the investigation regarding Gabrielle will complete. The missing incident has made net users search the location of this camping spot.

NORTH PORT, Fla. — One of the two dueling searches in the Gabby Petito case took another turn Sunday after authorities found human remains they believe to be her near Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming.

The second search — which aims to find her fiancé and the sole person of interest in the case — came up empty handed after a second full day searching a wildlife refuge in Florida.

The tragic twists and turns after Petito, 22, who disappeared on a trip with her fiancé last month, has fueled a massive law enforcement and social media effort to solve the complex, cross-country mystery.

The FBI on Sunday announced a body appearing to be Petito was found near a camping area in the Bridger-Teton National Forest. While a forensic examination had not yet been done to verify it was her remains, the FBI said the body was "consistent with the description" of Petito.

A cause of death was not immediately known.

As authorities made the announcement, law enforcement in Florida paused the near 25,000-acre search in Florida's Carlton Reserve for her fiancé, Brian Laundrie, 23, until Monday morning. They'd spent Sunday searching the vast stretches of hiking trails and brush for any sign of Laundrie.

But after a second full day, authorities came up empty-handed.

Police described Laundrie, 23, as a person of interest in the case. Petito had been last seen in Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming in late August. Laundrie returned here alone Sept. 1 from the couple's weeks-long trip, only to disappear himself last week.

According to the New York Post,

Police in Florida investigating the disappearances of Gabby Petito and her boyfriend, Brian Laundrie, have obtained some cellphone tracking data for them — but still need to secure search warrants to get “complete access.”

Investigators in North Port aren’t able to track the phones’ real-time locations, though they now have limited access to information about the couple’s movements, according to ABC7 reporter Jeff Butera.

“They need search warrants for devices. North Port PD is still working to get ‘complete access’ to the phones,” Butera wrote on Twitter.

Petito, 22, went missing on a cross-country road trip with Laundrie, 23, in a converted van to tour national parks in the US West.

Police said Laundrie returned in the van alone to his home in North Port on Sept. 1.

Meanwhile, Petito’s family reported her missing Sept. 11 after she lost contact with them.

Investigators aren’t able to track Gabby Petito’s and Brian Laundrie’s phones’ real-time locations, though they now have limited access to information about the couple’s movements.

She last spoke with her family on Aug. 25 from Wyoming’s Grand Teton National Park.

In the last text from her phone to family on Aug. 30, Petito indicated that she ended up in Yosemite, about 900 miles away in California — though her mother is skeptical that she actually sent the message.

Laundrie’s family has refused to let authorities talk to him and they claimed Saturday that he had gone missing himself from their home days earlier.

As reported by Click Orlando,

on a recent cross-country journey with her significant other Brian Laundrie, Petito disappeared.

Recent reports revealed that about a month before her parents filed a missing persons report, Petito and Laundrie, who live in Florida, were pulled over by the Moab Police Department in Utah near the entrance to Arches National Park.

Police video shows the couple getting into a minor scuffle that began when Laundrie climbed into the van with dirty feet.

The body camera video shows Petito visibly upset when an officer approached them.

Petito speaking to an officer from the Moab Police department stated the following.

“We’ve just been fighting this morning. Some personal issues,” Petito says, adding that she suffers from obsessive-compulsive disorder that affects her behavior.

Police determined Petito was the aggressor, but Laundrie called it a squabble, and ultimately said he did not want to press charges.

You’ve probably heard the name Gabby Petito in recent days.

The 22-year-old blogger has documented her country-wide travels on Instagram and TikTok for the last two years.

“We’ve just been fighting this morning. Some personal issues,” Petito says, adding that she suffers from obsessive-compulsive disorder that affects her behavior.

Police determined Petito was the aggressor, but Laundrie called it a squabble, and ultimately said he did not want to press charges.

After her last known contact with family in late August, Petito vanished from the area of the Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming, authorities said.

Laundrie returned to the couple’s home on Sept. 1 alone.

Who is Petito?
Petito is originally from Blue Point, New York, according to her private Facebook page and published reports, and attended Bayport-Blue Point High School.

Petito and Laundrie were childhood sweethearts on Long Island before moving from Blue Point in 2019 to live with his parents in North Port, about 34 miles south of Sarasota, Florida.

Her Instagram account officially revealed that the two were an item in 2019.

The couple’s first cross-country trip was in a Nissan Sentra, but when that journey was done, they decided to downsize their lives and travel full time. That’s when they made the decision that a van would be perfect for their #VanLife, which she’s known to use as a tag on social media.

“We handcrafted our own tiny van, a simple 2012 Ford Transit Connect, utilizing space with unique designs and features,” Petito wrote as a caption for a YouTube video the couple posted. “Creating a space for both artistic expression and distance hiking. Thank you so much for watching, and we hope you tag along on our journey wherever the van takes us!”

Her Instagram account shows her traveling in 2019 to Big Sur, California, Yosemite Falls, Pikes Peak, Colorado and Carolina Beach, North Carolina, to name a few destinations.

VAN LIFE | Beginning Our Van Life Journey

This from the channel Red, White & Bethune

Tonight I was editing our video with footage from August 27th 2021 at around 6:00pm from the Grand Tetons area. It was in Spread Creek Dispersed Camping land.

We passed by a white van and both Kyle and I recognized that they had Florida plates (we are from Florida too) and wanted to stop to say hi, but the van was dark and it didn’t look like there was anyone there. So we kept going. We eventually left and parked up front in the gravel area.

In July 2020, Petito shared on Instagram that Laundrie had proposed. However, Inside is reporting that Petito’s mother said the two called off the engagement.

The couple began their #VanLife in 2021.

While more public details about Petito are scarce, her family has been open about their desperation to locate their daughter.

Last contact
Gabby Petito’s parents told KSL-TV that the couple left Salt Lake City on Aug. 24, headed toward Grand Teton National Park, where they believe the couple spent no more than two days.

Petito’s mother, Nichole Schmidt, said that was the last time she spoke to her daughter over FaceTime.

“She seemed OK to me at the time, other than I don’t know where the relationship was going with the boyfriend,” Schmidt said of the couple possibly going through a rough patch.

Petito’s last post on Instagram was Aug. 25.

KSL report Utah

https://www.ksl.com/article/50243038/father-pleads-for-help-finding-daughter-moab-police-video-shows-emotional-encounter-with-couple

According to that report it happened a day or so before this couple went missing from Moab and were later found shot to death.

Screen Shot 2021-09-21 at 2.49.28 PM.png

The KSL report also states that Brian returned home with Gabby's van earlier this month and has so far kept quiet.
The father is frustrated that his daughter didn't return, and the person that did return isn't providing any information.

Brian has remained a person of interest and his attorney has counseled him to remain silent.

The search for Gabby Petito continues at Grand Teton National Park as police in the Florida city — where the young couple lived with Laundrie's family before heading west in a van — work with federal authorities to find her. They are combing through tips and evidence found in the vehicle after Laundrie returned home in the vehicle two weeks ago. Her family reported her missing 10 days later.

Laundrie has been named a "person of interest" in her disappearance, a term police use for those suspected of involvement in a crime but who haven't been arrested or formally accused. Laundrie continues to decline interviews with investigators, North Port Police Chief Todd Garrison said. Laundrie's attorney, however, arranged to get investigators items they had been looking for, Garrison said without elaborating.

"Brian is exercising his constitutional rights, and I have to respect that," Garrison said. "But as of right now the focus is finding Gabby."

Laundrie's attorney Steven Bertolino said his client "will continue to remain silent on the advice of counsel."

"Many people are wondering why Mr. Laundrie would not make a statement or speak with law enforcement in the face of Ms. Petito's absence. In my experience, intimate partners are often the first person law enforcement focuses their attention on in cases like this and the warning that 'any statement made will be used against you' is true, regardless of whether my client had anything to do with Ms. Petito's disappearance," Bertolino said in a statement.

Laundrie's designation as a person of interest is a "formality," the lawyer said.

On Thursday, investigators were still trying to determine where to focus search efforts.

The young couple chronicled their trip on Instagram, and Garrison said social media companies have been helpful in the investigation. He didn't provide any information on what detectives may have learned from digital traces.

In Utah, Moab police responded to a "domestic problem" involving Petito and Laundrie on Aug. 12, according to a police report, but no charges were filed after the couple separately told police they didn't want that to happen. Detectives are reviewing the incident, Garrison said, but it wasn't clear if there was any link between the events of that day and her disappearance.

Body camera footage released Thursday show both Laundrie, who had been driving, and Petito somewhat agitated as police question them after pulling them over for "some obscure driving" and possible intoxication, according to the officer who stopped them. Petito was crying and mentioned she had been arguing with Laundrie, citing "personal issues," including that she had apologized for being "so mean" to Laundrie.

Petito, who told police she quit her job as a nutritionist to travel across the country and start a blog, also mentioned that Laundrie didn't "really believe I can do any of it ... and that really stresses me out."

Both of them showed marks resulting from physical fighting earlier that day outside a grocery store in Moab. After speaking with the couple and someone who saw them struggle near the store, officers referred to Petito as the "primary aggressor." They determined she swatted at Laundrie as he shoved her back and told her to calm down, according to the police report. He tried to lock her out of the van, but she forced her way over him through the driver's side, the report states.

"Brian said Gabrielle, thinking he was going to leave her in Moab without a ride, went to slap him. As Gabrielle started to swing, Brian pushed her away to avoid the slap," the report continues, noting she was off balance but caught his face with some fingers, causing minor visible scratches.

Their time together on the road "created emotional strain between them and increased the number of arguments," officers wrote in a police report. Laundrie described trying to walk away from her so they could calm down, but described Petito as going into "a manic state."

"She's my fiance and I love her," Laundrie can be heard telling officers in the body camera video. He was emotional at the prospect of Petito being charged and relieved when officers decided not to charge her.

Petito said she had no intention to harm Laundrie and her reaction was not malicious, which is what led police not to file charges. Officers did, however, separate them for the night, even putting Laundrie up in a hotel.

"Yes, they had a disturbance. Yes, it was captured on body camera, their interaction with law enforcement. But beyond that, you know, I don't know what it has to do with the disappearance."

Garrison said the department has provided information to the Grand County Sheriff's Office as it investigates another homicide case. He didn't provide specifics, but deputies in Grand County are searching for a suspect the deaths of a newlywed couple whose bodies were found in the La Sal mountains on Aug. 18.

"They don't have any suspect information right now ... they told us they're looking at everything at this point," he said.

Petito's family members said they last spoke to her during the last week of August. Before the last time her family heard from her, Petito is believed to have been seen in Grand Teton National Park, according to police.

Petito's case remains a missing person case, not a criminal investigation, Garrison told reporters.

The FBI, which is aiding in the investigation, established a national hotline to receive tips at 1-800-CALLFBI (225-5324).

According to CBS News the Moab Police Cam footage was taken on August 12.

So according to this report the following occurred August 18, 2021
Six days after that incident, the bodies of two newlyweds, Kylen Schulte, 24, and Crystal Turner, 38, were found at a campsite near Moab. Schulte and Turner had told friends they feared a "creepy man" they had seen nearby might harm them.

The sheriff's office has also said there's no further danger to the public. But that leaves unanswered questions for locals now nervous to be alone.

"Until they can give us more than that, we are not safe," said friend Cindy Sue Hunter. She said she called police after the women didn't return from their campsite in early August.

"I'd really like to see progress where it doesn't just feel like we are screaming 'there's a killer out there, please help!' He, she, or they could be across the country. It's frustrating. It's scary," Calvert told KUTV.

Schulte, 24, was from Billings, Montana. Her brother died in an accidental shooting in 2015, Calvert has said.

Schulte had more recently fallen in love with and married Turner, a 38-year-old from Hot Springs, Arkansas. The two were remembered with flowers and candles at a vigil Sunday at the Moonflower Community Cooperative in Moab. Hunter said the couple was beautiful inside and out.

Authorities in North Port, Florida said they have not "ruled out" a link between Petito's disappearance and the deaths of Schulte and Turner.

"They're looking into that potential connection," said Joshua Taylor, public information officer for North Port police. "I have not heard of any information that links these two cases together. I understand the timing is suspicious. You never know. I'm not going to say we've ruled it out."

Brian Laundrie was last seen Tuesday after telling his family he was going for a hike amid the search for his girlfriend, Gabby Petito.

From Sept. 18,

Screen Shot 2021-09-21 at 3.17.23 PM.png
Authorities scoured the wilderness in two national parks Saturday for missing Long Island native Gabby Petito, while at the same time a massive, multi-agency search was launched in Florida for her boyfriend, Brian Laundrie, who managed to vanish despite being named by cops as a “person of interest” in a mystery that has captivated the country.

About 50 state and federal officials using ATVs, drones and scent-tracking dogs fanned out across Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park, a 160-acre, heavily wooded area, looking for Laundrie, whose parents say they last saw Tuesday and reported him missing Friday.

On Saturday evening, North Port police called off the first day of the search for Laundrie due to darkness with “Nothing found.” The search will continue Sunday morning.

Police could not say whether Laundrie owned a firearm and it’s unclear if he is armed.
Officials targeted the park because Laundrie’s parents pointed cops there Friday night. The parents and their lawyer would talk only about their son’s disappearance, not about Petito, 22, said North Port police spokesman Josh Taylor.

“The first time that we’ve had any in-depth conversation with them was yesterday,” Taylor said. “Their attorney called and said the family is concerned about Brian’s whereabouts; they would like to file a missing persons report.”

The call came two days after North Port Police Chief Todd Garrison insisted he knew where Laundrie was during a press briefing.

Police said the search for Laundrie, 23, was a challenge because the park connects by bridge to the Mabry Carlton Reserve, a 24,565-acre wildlife habitat in Sarasota County.
“It’s muddy, it’s wet, there are a few unpaved dirt roads that are out there basically running along the power lines,” Taylor said.

Laundrie’s outdoor skills could further complicate the search.

“You could be out here for months if you wanted,” Taylor said.

He insisted police were not to blame for Laundrie going off the radar. “Brian is a resident of this community. Brian was not a suspect in a crime, Brian was a person of interest and a missing person.

The Petito family lawyer insisted Laundrie isn’t missing.

“All of Gabby’s family want the world to know that Brian is not missing, he is hiding,” Richard B. Stafford said. “Gabby is missing.”

Meanwhile, the FBI’s Denver office, which is handling the case, tweeted that it was conducting “ground surveys” in Wyoming’s Bridger-Teton National Forest. The focus was on the Spread Creek Dispersed Camping Ground, on the east boundary with Grand Teton National Park.

The Spread Creek campground site, which Petito had listed as visiting on thedyrt.com, will be closed to the public for the next few days as agencies canvass the area for the missing 22-year old, the Daily Mail reported Saturday.

“If you were in the area of Spread Creek Dispersed Camping Area, as identified in the attached map, during the timeframe of August 27-30, 2021, and saw Gabby and/or her boyfriend or their vehicle, please provide that information to the FBI,” the FBI Denver stated.

The park is known to be home to a number of threatening predators, including coyotes, bobcats, cougars and foxes.

Petito was last seen on August 24 leaving a hotel with Laundrie in Salt Lake City, Utah, during the couple's cross-country campervan trip
She made her final call to her mom the next day from Grand Teton National Park and was reported missing by her family on September 11
Police said Laundrie returned to his home in North Port, Florida, September 1

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10004327/Police-search-missing-van-life-girl-Gabby-Petito-Wyoming-boyfriend-Florida.html

Petito last spoke with her family on Aug. 24, telling them she was on the way to the Tetons, and posted her last Instagram photo a day later from Ogden, Utah, about 250 miles south of the park.

Petito’s last text to her family, sent Aug. 30, inexplicably said she didn’t have service in Yosemite — nearly 900 miles away, in California. Petito’s mother has said she doesn’t believe that text was sent by her daughter.

The 310,00-acre Grand Teton park has more than 485 square miles of remote backcountry.

Petito’s stepfather, Jim Schmidt, who is in Wyoming trying to aid the search for her, has said the family is confident she made it to the area, but aren’t sure where she may have been camping.

Several people have said they saw the couple or Laundrie alone in the area, including a Louisiana man who posted on TikTok that he had a confrontational conversation with Laundrie, who was drinking alone at a bar in West Yellowstone, Mont., on Aug. 26, and a woman who posted that she and her husband gave a hitchhiking Laundrie a ride on Aug. 29 at Colter Bay Village in Grand Teton.
