Why should you avoid screen time for kids!

With the change in times, the challenges faced by kids have changed drastically too ! The challenges faced by kids are way different than what we had faced a few decades ago. The education system is demanding lot more hours and the gadgets are eating away their innocence. Pretend play is no more a part of their childhood and they prefer playing games even as physical as Hide n seek on their tablet rather than play physically! They no more want to color using color pencils or crayons, rather they want to draw and paint on an app.
So how should you make them stay away from gadgets?
Constant glaring at the screen will deform the shape of the eyeball leading to myopia. Even if they stay away from gadgets till their teenage years, the progression of myopia can be delayed magnificently. Remember the golden saying " Kids ape the elders" So you need to limit your use as well. Play physical games along with them, take them to a park, keep them engaged in physical activities. Studies have indicated that playing in greenery has positive impact on the eyesight. So let this be the major reason for you to take them outside.
