India is preparing for its first space mission, Gaganyaan, and Russia will make spacesuits for Indian astronauts to be trained.
The development of Indian aeronautics aircraft training in Russia was initiated by research, development and business development Zvezda under the contract of Glavkosmos and the Human Spaceflight Center of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO).
"On September 3, Indian astronauts who were training for a flight to Russia under Glavkosmos' contract, visited Zvezda, where their anthropometric limits were measured by subsequent production of spacesuits. The agreement also provides for the production of individual chairs and custom accommodations." CEO of Glavkosmos Dmitry Loskutov reportedly said.

The Human Spaceflight Center of ISRO has signed a contract for the production and delivery of equipments by other Indian cosmonauts and signed with Glavkosmos on March 11, 2020. Indian astronauts have been training in Russia since February 10, 2020, for mission purposes.
Reportedly, the contract also provides for the production of individual seats and custom liners. 4 Indian Air Force pilots are currently training in Russia and are likely to be candidates for the Gaganyaan Mission.

Not only Russia, India and France space agencies are currently in talks to provide the necessary equipment to Gaganyaan astronauts - similar to the ones used by French space pilot Thomas Pesquet for Mission Alpha next year, reports PTI.
Pesquet is scheduled to return to the International Space Station next year on the SpaceX's Dragon spacecraft scheduled for the start of next year.

ISRO and the French space agency are collaborating on approximately Rs 10,000 crore on Gaganyaan missions.
According to an ISRO official, "Indian space surgeons will be going to France next year when the coronavirus status has diminished." However, he has not yet commented on the co-operation for the supply of equipment to Gaganyaan astronauts.
The rocket that will take the Gaganyaan spacecraft into space is the GSLV Mark III weighing 640,000 kilograms with a carrying capacity of three astronauts.
The first unmanned Gaganyaan mission was scheduled for December 2020, and the second unmanned mission was scheduled in June 2021. The manned mission to space are scheduled for 2022. However, ISRO has indicated that it may be delayed due to the COVID-19 epidemic and lockdown.
